Good luck PVA, I always liked him, and he'd still be first choice for me at left back.
Hope he gets a good club and we can watch him in the champions League.

All the best pat. Thanks for your efforts whilst you were here. A much under valued player.

Was also a genuinely exciting, attacking full-back in periods when we didn't have much else attacking flair beyond Wilf.

You can excuse the positional sense and brain farts in hindsight when a player has so clearly contributed to us staying in the league over a good few years.

Best memory for me, the last-minute winner against United last season. Not many things feel better than sickening the wankers like that.

Hopefully he's not too disappointed by the atmosphere at Gala after experiencing Selhurst.

Thanks for a good few years Pat.

We missed his attacking qualities quite badly when he was out. He always linked well with Zaha and played a part in a lot of important goals over the years.

Really think we need to try and replace him with someone in the same mould, especially as it seems our full-backs will be pushing on more this season.

I like Mitchell but he's still got a lot of improving to do and it's unfair to rely on him as our only out-and-out LB for the entire season.

did we ever try him as a left-winger? he was a forward really, that's how he started out and it always showed (for good and for bad)

Would have been ideal under PV as an attacking fullback, or as a wing back in a 5-3-2 / 3-5-2

He will be missed

Thanks Pat, you'd still be No 1 left back for me. Heard the same good things about him doing good things behind the scenes. People should look at the comments and pictures on his twitter account to see what a nice guy he is.

I think Roy did once and it went very badly - can't remember if last season or season before. He looked completely lost.

Leeds away, he was horrendous and hooked at half time. Seems Roy confirmed what he'd always thought after just 45 minutes, he was flipping dreadful haha.
