Kind of pisses me off that people are happy to spend more on a meal out than others have to earn to fund their whole week's living expenses but each to their own.

If you'd worked hard, earned a bit of money, and felt like spending some on a nice meal out with friends or family, would you?

Bit odd coming on a thread like this and posting that, but as you say, each to their own

Having looked at the menu, I have a question. How did 'black-faced' lamb differ from any other type of lamb? Would you know if the lamb were black-faced or not?

My wife took me for lunch at Le Manoir last weekend for my Birthday. It was delicious! The service was perhaps not as on point as other restaurants at that level that I've been to in the past, but that's just a minor quibble...the food was really great and it felt very special. I also loved the setting and being able to wander around the grounds and have a look around the gardens.

That article by Jay Rayner is decent. I do feel guilty spending that much money on a meal (especially as my wife paid!), but as I don't eat in establishments like this very often, it was an experience I will always remember.
