The guy doing the half time kids penalty challenge last night was running short of time but decided to let the kids have an extra kick. He said in to his mike, something like "why not, the department's been in enough trouble this week as it is". Something else going on or relevant to this?

I would take the money for Zaha. He does some good play but he slows our play down as soon as we are outside the box, which is why we canít score as by the time he has worked in the whole of the oppositions teams defence is set. So he either makes a chance for himself or creates congestion for other players. All very one dimensional with him in the team.

Yep just like he did when he provided the opportunity for pva to get the winner at old Trafford . Most ridiculous comment I've read on here in a while.

That was on the break though, when most of Man U's midfield were in our half. Against a midfield and defence that is set and deep I see MFBias' point, but this is the Wilf we've always watched and loved.

When Wilf is on his game it matters less because he wins pens and creates general havoc, but with an off-form Wilf it shows up our lack of attacking limitations elsewhere, which isn't his fault.

Basically what you're saying is it works away when we naturally counter. It does not at home. The problem has been there a while it's up to Roy to find a solution .

He got tackled by Wan Bissaka, Van Aanholt picked up the loose ball. To view the link you have to Register or Login

1m20s

If anything Van Aanholt made the pass to Zaha who just ran 5 yards, didn't beat his man and lost the ball. Zaha didn't create any opportunity, Van Aanholt did.

Wilf is the kind of player who creates mayhem in defences - sometimes precisely how he plans; and sometimes because of ricochets etc. Yes, he didn't pass to PVA. But to stop him, AWB could do no more than stab the ball away into space in a dangerous area, where PVA picked it up and scored. That chance doesn't arise without Wilf's run into the box (or PVA's pass; or Benteke's tackle).

Anyway, back to Andros. Hard working player, no pace, wand of a left foot, but prefers to shoot (badly) rather than cross. He’s going to be an EXCELLENT sub. He might not start a game for a very long time now. Still a good squad player to have though.

You sure you didn't fall asleep at half time and wake up to see Townsend stpping up to the spot?

This post has some truth to it. Although we are undeniably a better team with Zaha in the starting 11. There are many occasions when Zaha has the beating of his man and then fails to deliver the ball, but then decides to try and beat his man again... by the time the ball is delivered the forwards have already made their runs and the oppositions defence is already set.

The keyword here is mayhem, we used to have 2 wingers who caused mayhem just as much as the frustration as the shit crosses and who could out do the other one with the tricks, but the balance it gave us just looked so much better than now.
If only Bolasie never got injured with the shock of Sun's goal at Stoke as he was never the same after that and meant getting that 30 million was great business at the time.

Wilf pushed into the box looking to get a shot away but A1B got a toe in about 12 yards out and the ball popped back to PVA who scored. Wilf most certainly didn't 'provide the opportunity'.
