These hasbeens/overthehills/not good enough's haven't done bad in keeping us in the top flight for the longest period in our whole entire history.

Anyway, Bissaka played really well yesterday, well played, hopefully this is the start of a great future for the lad, from what Woosie says, he has a good attitude and work ethic so im excited to see this guy progress.

They have had nothing to do with it. Last count we have signed around 25 players since 2012 who weren't fit for purpose and made practically zero contribution. Massive wastage for a club like ours. That money could have been invested more wisely for The Academy.

Yeah who knows we might get TFM in part exchange for the 'Big Wan'

Against Spurs he did well but his passing was very bad, below 40% going to a Palace player. However then against Utd he has the best pass completion rate of anyone in the team at 82%.

The strange thing is that Roy only put him there because he was left with only poor options, it was him or Delaney to go into the team. However he has stepped up and not let anyone down. Why the fear to try any of the other youngsters?

However, he needs to work in his positioning a little. Constructive criticism. He looks a real player.

My favourite thing he does is get massive clearances out of nowhere with seemingly very little backlift. Odd technique but effective.

Still, it's been great buying 30 hasbeens/over the hills/not good enoughs in that time instead who have done pretty much fvck all for CPFC save for picking up their wages. All those autographs for the kids.
Take your parish bashing elsewhere, this is about a youngster with great potential.

As does TFM. Out of position a fair amount and masks this with his ability to use pace to recover. Therefore the difference between the 2 is relatively small from a defensive point of view.

However, and this will be especially important in the remaining games after Chelsea (and Liverpool) when he crossed the halfway line he was able to produce. He was the most effect RB in the opposition half we have had all season. Him on 1 side and PVA on the other, they are able to get forward, support the attack and able to put in the crosses we need. FOr that reason alone i would have him in the starting lineup through to the end of the season even when everyone is fit.

When as soon as we produce a decent prospect up to the age of 17/18 a bigger club can just come and take them from us?

They are working on improving to a Cat1 academy but being in South London and not having our training base out by the M25 is making it much harder to meet all the requirements. Even then we will have huge competition for players even if they are good.

How many teams have brought through academy products in the past few years? It isn't many, especially those in the PL for a sustained period. You need a very good player to be PL quality.

So how would you have invested the money in the academy? What would you have done and spent the money on?

Didn't deserve to be on the losing team last night. Sorloth and PVA either. Will be gutted if he's dropped for Chelsea.

Just goes to show what can happen when you chuck the kids in. I’m very surprised one of lokilo or lumeka haven’t been given a chance in the league with all our injuries. They could have had a similar impact in a more attacking position. We’ll probably never know

Great performance last night. Hope he continues as he's started. What he lacked in experience he made up for with his pace and desire. Very Palace.

TFM has upped his game recently so I'd be tempted to give AWB a rest v Chelsea and let TFM play Right Back v Hazard (on assumption Hazard returns to wide left and Giroud or Morata play CF). TFM is quicker.
As someone said earlier, AWB will mean the club doesn't need to fork out for a RB in the Summer.

Dobbo - not anyone screaming out for an immediate 1st team chance but I'm convinced that Kirby will be first choice in centre mid in about 18 months time. Lumeka is a clever wide player with a real eye for goal. He may be worth a gamble if Townsend got injured before Zaha is back. Hungbo has made big strides this season. Scores goals. Can play wide or behind CF. If keeps progressing at this rate, he could be pushing for a place in 12 months time.
