I feel like its more because this is the last time we'll see a manager in charge of a PL club for this long. The end of an era type nonsense.

Dennis Bergkamp has got to be a shoe-in for this.

He'll either do a FdB or a Wenger.

Maybe with Viera as joint managers.

Exactly! Suddenly it’s all ‘what a gent, arsenal legend, so classy, we’ll always remember you, welcome at the Emirates anytime’ etc. I hope they crash and burn moyes/Man Utd style.

I wonder if the new guy will get Arsenal to bother against our relegation rivals in future?

Great manager. Odd feeling post Wenger. I have a feeling/fear they will appoint FDB and he will go on an unbeaten league run lasting 36 matches. And I’m only half joking.

If so, I honestly don't give a ****. Honest.

Bob ******* Wilson literally in tear in a radio interview yesterday. FFS, grow up, man. All this ******* eulogising when he hasn't been a decent manager for ten years. **** off.

No-one died. A 68 year old man is leaving his job.

All this faux grief is nauseating. It all started with Diana's death. Get some perspective, people.

Aren't Arsenal fans always in a state of mourning? It's their default setting.

Wengkfest.

Reading the coverage you would think that he'd died. It's ridiculous. I also find it a little galling giving arsenal fans so much airtime. As fans they are the most fickle, dispassionate bunch of "football club customers you could wish to meet. Now all of a sudden they are engaged and care about the business they occasionally transact with.

Of course Brighton customers are worse but no-one really gives a damn about them anyway

I see no inconsistency in wanting him gone and then celebrating his whole career and what he did for the club as a whole, especially in the early years.

If ever there was a genuine "leaving by mutual agreement" this appears to be it.

Those who wanted him gone will soon realise what they are missing.

I liked him generally though he did sometimes let himself down with complaints about refs and he clearly let some other managers get to him (Fergie and Mourinho) which I would imagine he will regret (twats though they may be)
