5 years later and we’re only 1 point better off goes to show how much the league has improved as a whole rather than just us.

Whatever people think of TP the fact is he pulled off an absolute miracle that season & laid down the foundations of an established premier league team.

Replacing Jairo with a better midfielder - especially a creative one would be an excellent move. And I expect we'll use those two loan spots again - I wouldn't be at all surprised if one is a striker and the other a creative wide player.

And on the FYP pod they mentioned Ayew is available for 4 mil. An extra place up the table would pay for that. We might resign Sako also if the wages were sensible.

If that was all the business we did over the summer, and no further additions, I would be pretty happy.

We don’t need to spend much. We need patience, we also need to work out how to win at home. Some fresh legs in midfield and competition at left back. Maybe a young forward / winger

The cull at Palace has already started with JS and JP released and many more will follow, and it is a sensible ploy by the Manager and Board as there are many who clearly do NOT figure moving forward, and we Must be bold in our decision making as we cant continue to keep avoiding relegation only in the final few weeks of the season any longer. I accept it is a major problem moving on the highly paid and still under contract players, but it can be done by loaning out and subsidising wages or selling at greatly reduced fees, that creates the opportunity to bring in players who the manager knows will add value to his squad.
To suggest we simply hold on to players who have no chance of stepping up and adding
value in moving the team forward is the perfect recipe for stagnation, It will now be our 7th premiership season and with that comes the financial stability which we should be using far better in building our long term future around. It will be interesting to see how the Board view this opportunity this summer, but also just as importantly we dont waste the Final season of Roy Hodgsons expertise and stability he brought and plan well for after his depature, and the best way for that is putting together good solid playing foundations this summer.

Bradley Dack, maybe. Then we should be able to swing a striker purchase out of the money made this season. Selling AWB right now if we can avoid it is not the best policy. He will be a £100M player in a few years and that's when we sell, if possible.
Why do we all assume we are going to get stupid money for AWB.

The most expensive fall back in history is only £50m and only four defenders full stop have ever gone for more than £50m. The highest for £75m.

Maybe. I feel Sakho is our most important player other than wilf and integral to us being able to play a more possession based game. If we want a new creative central midfielder we need someone to give him the ball from the back - and Sakho is one of the best centre back passers in the league.

A1B’s stock is high and rightly so after 18 months of outstanding defensive performance. He’s pacy and one of the best man on man tackling full backs I’ve ever seen. However to justify a fee in excess of £50m he would have to prove his value in attack - crossing, passing, assisting - this is what top six clubs demand in a full back. The jury is still out as to whether the attacking side of his game can be as good as his defending.

Not many seem to understand this point , everyone who stays up is improving season on season. Everyone above us has either a better infrastructure or more spending power it’s as simple as that. We’re about where we should be imo.

Don't tell the "it's boring being in this league if we don't kick on" brigade. Some people won't realise what a great period these last few years have been, but they will if we go down and get stuck in the championship for years

To be honest i love the championship but i appreciate that to progress we need to stay up.
We are in uncharted waters for the palace as 7 th season in PL we should appreciate that.

Getting in the right two loans will be important, if we can bring in another 23s player then that along with Sorloth coming back adds to the squad. I would love us to sign Sessegnon. CW and CB need to be fit and back to some sort of form because a good striker is out of our price range.

Nobody knows other than CPFC like as if we are going to publish the fact. The only thing that will possibly hamper us is the future ownership.

Absolutely. So many moans this season but one day we will look back on the wins at Manchester City and Arsenal in particular, but others as well, as the glory days!

We will tell our kids about the joy of watching Wilf and others. In fact I suspect we will look back at an awful lot of the players in recent years as greats. Jedi, Bolasie, Murray, Jules, AWB, Dann, Delaney, Jimmy Mc, Punch, Ward... and I could go on to list several more.

It was brilliant. But it doesn't mean we haven't improved as well. We are a better footballing team now and have more depth to cope with injuries - we were very lucky with them that season. And of course other teams have kicked on and improved too. The likes of Leicester, Watford and Wolves are the most obvious examples.
