BBC lunchtime news when showing the offending tweet blanked out the chimpanzee from the doctored photo of a couple (not Harry or Meghan) holding a child's hands

I had noticed that in recent weeks heís been making more critical remarks about the BBC, like he was brewing up to leave anyway. I donít think presenters need to be fawning sycophants, but itís a bit odd to bite the hand that feeds you. If he didnít want to work for 5 anymore, nothing to stop him quitting and joining his mate at Virgin, for example.

I donít think heís done this tweet deliberately to engineer his sacking, thatíd be very odd indeed. But I can imagine that when the BBC managers discussed the matter with him, he was probably very bullish about it Ďcome on guys, whereís your sense of humourí type of response. I bet the apology to them wasnít that great and so they decided they didnít need the grief any longer.

Like me, maybe they also felt he was about to resign anyway, so they got in first with the sacking.

Boatload of money on offer from LBC, couldn't get out of his BBC contract, post racist tweet, get sacked, free to take up LBC offer, nice narrative to start on for the gammon that listen to it.

Doesn't stop him being a total cock-end (and racist).

Indeed, he was moaning last week that the BBC don't offer him his own music show so who knows ?

Not sure how you can come that conclusion when the only time you see them is when the press are having a wankfest over their choice of clothing or how theyíre spunking tax payers money on another tour of another exotic country.

I was at that game. Accidentally ended up in a Port Vale biker pub before the match. That was a mistake.

I find it hard to believe after Englandís recent away game and the Arsenal/Spurs incident that he would not have realised how the tweet would be viewed. If he genuinely didnít appreciate that then he must be as thick as two short planks.

Didn't Kevin Day once allude to Mr Baker not being quite the cheeky cockney "man-of-the-people" that he makes out?

Will LBC want him? Maybe join Andy Gray and Keys at whatever station they are at

Why? I am not part of the PC campapaigning snowflakes brigade far from it. I think people take offrnce iver far too much but what can be taken from that picture other than racist overtones? Any child not white is a monkey? FFS. His position is untenable....probably intentionally if he gets LBC job

And our Kevin was big enough and rounded enough to admit publicly in his show ' I was a teenage racist' that his past wasn't all 'cheeky' either. Baker is a pathetic immature in-denial old man who won't fool the rest of us anymore.
