His story over the last few years is my favourite among all the CPFC players. To be where he was in the Summer of 2012 at 31 and to have had the three years he's had now, amazing.
But still his wiki page is him in a bloody Ipswich shirt from 5 years ago!!

Hats off. Outstanding performance by Damo today. Shame about the routine momentary lapse, but we won. I'll let him off that one

Unreal today - hands up. Backs against the wall, you wouldn't want anyone else.
I still maintain that we need an upgrade but fair play, faultless today Damo. Good man.

Costa in his pocket. Has to be one of my all time Palace players for performances like today. Always gives it everything.

Yes....can we just remind the Delaney critics that today he was up against Diego Costa and he frustrated him all day.
A brilliant job, hassling him, nipping in front of him, numerous blocks and full-bloodied clearances. The kind of stuff that doesn't show in the match statistics (which you can shove where the sun don't shine), and endless hardwork that is forgotten by some. You need a mix of skills in a successful team and Damo's performance on Costa (who was spitting his dummy by half-time, he-he) was just as important as the midfield brilliance of Cabaye and the strength of Sako. |
