Compulsory 100 Food and Drink levy: cpfc2010 to review - see post #1076

Just what it says.

Let's get enough posts in support of this thread so the club can see the error of their ways.

If you don't sit in the Stephenson think further ahead as if the 'experiment' works it's coming to a part of the ground near you soon.

UPDATE [note: posted by Benzhiyi, not Crozzy71 - 3/2/15]

Response re the 100 levy, sent from Steve Parish to BBSer Slimbloke’H’:

'Howard,

Thanks for your email.

You enjoy some of the least expensive season tickets in the country, as you are aware every possible amount of money we can has been reinvested in facilities and the playing squad. This transfer window alone we will have spent 12 million on players and commuted to as much again in annual salaries.

We haven't put the price up as such since we are giving you the value in food and bev to cover the increase in the hope that we can get the spend increased. Currently the home fans spend nearly half that of the away fans and I can assure you the away fans do not have the facilities you enjoy.

We will make sure you can get value for money from the credit on your season card and would ask you to embrace this initiative. We will constantly review this to ensure Thai works as well as possible for everyone .

Steve'

[2ND UPDATE - POST 906, BY CPFC 2010 - 3/2/15]

'Dear All,

Steve Parish and I have read most of the 900+ posts on this thread and listened to the views that have been presented. We are very sensitive to the arguments put forward and the last thing that we wanted to do was upset supporters who use this part of the stadium. We are meeting this afternoon with key staff to discuss this issue and will do our best to keep everybody happy. It is clear that a compulsory catering charge in blocks E and F is unpopular so will scrap it and come up with an alternative plan.

More news on this shortly.

COYP

The bbs is only a measure of the fans opinion when it suits the club , so if not many people post on here the club will see it as everyone is in favour however if lots of people post on this thread the club will say the bbs is not a reflection of the people that use the lounges affected .

Wonder how many Spurs fans will be attracted to this lol

It's effectively a 10%-12% increase in ticket prices (once you factor in the gross margin the club make), the club are dictating where we eat and drink and what tops it is we're being made to pay for it in 4 weeks and can't even use it until August.

Buying Food and Drink at the club should be optional.

It would be better if you could choose to add this food and drink card to your season ticket if you wanted it and suited your match day routine. Like adding an option for Programmes to be included.

Would be interested to know what the price was last year and how much it has increased compared to other parts of the ground.

Not knowing the facts it initially appears you are saying your being forced to pay 100 extra for a food and drink voucher. My guess is that the club are in fact giving a larger credit than they are charging for.

I looked at the broacher for this year but it doesn't show last year prices but state most prices are unchanged.

I don't agree if you are being forced to pay extra but without all the facts its difficult to tell

Spot on.

I spend enough on travel to home games, paying even more on top is not an option for me.

Stupid idea but may suit some, it should be a choice not compulsory.

I'm not sure what the thinking behind this is all about.

If it's an experiment to try out cashless sales, then I feel they've chosen the wrong area to trial. The Stephenson Lounge isn't big enough to cope with the people who use it now. Someone worked out on the ST thread that there are approx. 500 people in the Stephenson. There is no way on earth even a quarter of those people will be served at half time with food/drink.

If it's been levied to try and attract us in there pre-game, then it's a fail. Most people aren't going to change their ️Matchday routine just to work off 100 they don't want to spend.

I'd really like to know the reasoning behind this. It's unfair to pick on one area of a stand and basically force us to buy food and/or drink when we wouldn't normally do so.

It's worse for people who don't drink alcohol. Queueing up for 15-20 minutes for a cup of coffee or overpriced bottles of water is not something I'm prepared to do (and I'd have to buy 45 bottles of water over the season), so for me the Club have raised my ST price by 100 whichever way you look at it.

Of course, we will be told we don't have to renew in that area if we don't like it

I'm sure if you "tweet" your mate Mr Parish he will be able to knock you 100 off.
