Very poor defending in the first half saw them score 3 goals. 3rd goal a very nice finish. Overall the quality of all those players on show is questionable and whether they will ever have a stint in the first team is very unlikely. lokilo by far the best player on the pitch and he is too lightweight. Will definitely need to bulk up. Was looking forwards to seeing inniss but he was dreadful. Clumsy and lethargic maybe because of his size but outplayed by players many divisions beneath him currently. Only other bright spark for palace was our number 20 (not sure on name) but was to eager to please and twice took on 35 yard efforts when should have passed. Nice touches by him though. Looked and played as if he was from the continent.
No AWB’s or Zaha’s coming through anytime soon

Agree with some of this.

One of the goals resulted from three of the defenders moving up but the RB Boateng failing to move up and play offside.

Inniss did not look like a player who has played first-team football in League One. Certainly isn't that comfortable with the ball at his feet, Jacob Mensah improved when Inniss was subbed and Lewis Hobbs (who did well) came on in his place.

Jashaun Chamberlin-Gayle at LB continues to do well to hide that he's a right-footed CB by trade. Nothing special in that position but for someone who isn't a LB he's done well.

Palace's team was:

Tupper
D.Boateng, Mensah, Inniss, Chamberlin-Gayle,
Pierrick, McGregor, M.Boateng, Lokilo
Aveiro
Street

Subs were: Webber, Russell, Bello, Olopade, Parris, Hobbs, Addy, Thiselton, Kadded

Think all of them except Bello and Parris came on. Bello and Thiselton are both new first-year scholars so 16-year-olds, the former a LB, the latter a RW primarily.

Aveiro was Aveiro, good on the ball when he had it but didn't get it enough and subsequently didn't influence the game. Palace clearly looked to play down the wings with Pierrick looking to beat his man and cross/pass, and Lokilo doing similar, cutting inside. They were, for me, the best two Palace players. But Malachi Boateng and Gio McGregor passed the ball well from centre mid.

Defensively the first half was a shambles. Positioning was all over the place, no communication and three goals conceded - one of which was a beauty - was not unfair on Palace.

Street had little service as we didn't play up to him much.

Second half I thought Hobbs was good and Mensah looked better than his first 45 suggested.

These guys have just come back from four days in Belgium.

Think it isn't out of the question that if he continues to improve then Pierrick could be with the first-team during the next pre-season. He's the best prospect outside of those who went to Switzerland. (That isn't based on one game, obviously).

I know you watch them more than most woosie so will listen to your opinion. I forgot to mention that the No. 17 for palace was good when he came on. Much like lokilo he will need to bulk up. I’m now interested to see the younger ones that went to Switzerland with the first team to see if they are different to the others and worthy of first team anytime soon

What’s your view on Mitchell? I’ve only seen him play a few times but strikes me as a decent player. A bit of pace, quite composed in the ball and solid tackler. Unrealistic to expect him to ‘do a awb’ but surely has first team potential?

Denzelle Olopade, second-year scholar joined from Norwich this summer. Wasn't impressed personally, but Palace liked him.

Probably the next debutant and Palace's back-up LB this season, I really like him and yes he is quite similar to AWB but that's where comparisons should end for the moment. I'm writing some stuff which includes more detail about him which will be out next month.

First Ramsgate goal scored by ex Palace U18 Will Johnson-Cole. A lad from Gravesend who looked a promising centre forward at one time. Played as a wide man yesterday.
