Even some strikers in Clinton Morrison, Leon McKenzie and so on.

But never a goalkeeper in the 29 years since I have been going to games, that is quite shocking that in almost 3 decades this club has never nurtured a Goalkeeper through the youth system to be good enough for the first team.
Joe Whitworth? ...Watch this space

Would Freddie Woodman have been our third and good enough in a few years if he hadn't jumped ship?

England U15 keeper, but we will be watching this space for a few years yet, although 19 year old Mark Travers at Bournemouth made a very accomplished debut last season.

I'm hoping to get a selfie with this one too. Worth the cost for that alone.

Cavalieri is doing ok for himself back in Brazil, and would have been an adequate performer for Palace if needed. I hope Henderson proves himself to be of Diego's standard. He will then be well worth having in reserve.

In my time we had Bill Glazier, John Jackson and Paul Hammond who basically kept goal from the 60s through the mid-70s. There was also the youth team goalkeeper who came through in the late 70s called Peter Caswell who played a few games. One shouldn't forget John Salako who played part of a game in goal in the 90s either! All home grown.
