Surprised at so many no votes. I can understand negativity about our current predicament, but at the end of the day, donít we all still love palace and still look forward to games clinging onto the hope of a win?

Obviously. Just not looking forward to the first few results unless there’s significant improvement to the team

Less than a month to the season and still no serious signings.

If we let Wilf go, we will likely go down so whilst I look forward to going to Palace, I have a real fear we will self combust as previously

Most underwhelmed I've been since our recent time in the PL.

Must say this is the least excited I've been since promotion. By a long way. Honestly not excited about going back to Selhurst one bit. And I've been a season ticket holder for 20+ years. It's going to be tedious. We are going to struggle to score. Lots of 0-0 draws and 1-0 defeats. We are going to be extremely dull to watch at home. I might bring a book to read.

If Wilf stays we should continue to pick up points on the road though, and that will still be fun. Fingers crossed

Lots can change in the next 3 weeks however, or get worse......

So, are you looking forward to the season starting in 25 days - Yes or no?

(f--k the moo option on this poll)
I would say you have summed it up perfectly Andy as to why people will feel pessimistic about our prospects for the season if it were to start with what we have at our current disposal, but also for the reasons you have suggested.
Hopefully commonsense will prevail and management will realise changes is needed and THREE quality First Team additions will arrive but NOT by having to sacrifice WZ also, as it is vital he remains if we are to progress this season into being a Top Ten club.
So I reserve judgement for now on our prospects, only to say it is getting very competitive even with the clubs coming up, as the likes of Villa who are spending heavily but not sure if its totally wisely as they need some experience added. However, i do see the other 2 promoted clubs in trouble so leaving One spot, but hopefully we steer clear off that.

It would be better if were at least linked to impossible signings as we were with Shearer (in his prime) but we get lumbered with rubbish players as rumours and even those don't come off. End up last minute with relegated teams forwards and a quick phone around to west ham for any left over cast offs.

Yes but we need at least 3 new players , A STRIKER to replace Batshuayi ( the 3 we have are useless )
A right back to replace AWB
and another Striker .

YES.

Going into any season with Crystal Palace is always an 'Adventure of the Unknown'.

It's all just a bit 'meh'. The best we can hope for is 14 wins, 10th place, bottle a couple of derby matches and a promising cup run that we'll surrender for no apparent reason just as it starts getting interesting. Roll on May.

Can't say I am really. The home matches were as dreary as anything last season and we have just sold our most exciting young player for £50m, yes £50m, and we are watching teams like West Ham and Watford strengthen. The best we can hope for is the last minute deadline day scramble, sacrifice the early games as the team gels and then hope that after the first few weeks the new players are integrated. Nothing like proper pre season planning eh? Still, I'll still be at Brammal Lane as well as the home games because that is what I do. Doesn't feel quite right at the moment though.

Another season of watching schluup amble about only for Roy to bring Meyer on in the 85th minute rinse and repeat once we've given the bottom 8 3 points each at home

And I can't begin to imagine what it will look like if Wilf was to leave! And if that were to happen and we get off to a bad start the BBS will be toxic. But our fans are pretty tolerant: it will be ages before we turn on our own players or the manager at Selhurst Park imho.

Benteke is not useless even if he doesn't score, neither is Wickham if he ever gets fit and I am surprised you feel that way about Zaha who will play every game up front for us.

Not particularly. It does feel a bit like we have stalled as a club and possibly reached the peak of the current owners ambitions.

It may also be having two small children who take up a lot of time but I am not too excited about watching Palace at the moment.

I think the fact recent seasons have followed a very familiar pattern may be the reason there is some shred of apathy/ lethargy creeping in.
