If you get bored of Gravel Hill there's always Corkscrew or Glebe way. Did Bromley 5km Parkrun yesterday in 21.36 and ran back home. Today a nice 16 miler taking in Lloyd Park, South Norwood Country park, Cater Park, Beckenahm Place Park and Kelsey Park.

Did about 16 miles on Saturday morning - and was at the top of gravel hill about 10 am ish - saw a couple of runners out at that time. Wonder if it was any of you folks?

its unlikley they were SOC;as far as im aware they dont have long runs from the club on sats;thats normally on suns,and they start at 8:30am...

Im rubbish at running but got my 5k time down from 33.30 to 28.10 this week - my first week of running any form of distance for over 3 years.

I go running every Sunday (Hash House Harriers) - off road - the route is marked in flour by a hare who sets off in advance (hare and hounds type of thing) - lasts for about 1 hours and 15 minutes (5/6 miles) - starts and finishes at a pub so very sociable.

when you register,you nominate a "home" run (in this case Bromley),BUT you can do ANY park run once registered (ie Roundshaw,Banstead Richmond;when i 1st registered i had planned on doing Banstead,but Roundshaw started so i changed my "home" run to that,and at some point i'll get over to Bromley!!!)

i did roundshaw this morning in a time of 27 and a bit mins; not bad considering that last nigth i was expecting to be a marshall,and had a belly full of pizza and crisps,and that i hadnt worked this week,BUT the thing thta hit home is that the person who finished in front of me was from my club,and i dont nbormally get beaten by her.....

I managed a PB at roundshaw of 25.29 yesterday, it was a great finish as I managed just to beat someone on the line who had overtaken me with 100m left.What a great buzz.

I did about 18 miles on Sat morning. Through Beckenham High St and up through Penge and up the hill to the Palace Parade. The hill from Penge to the top at Palace Parade is very long - longer than Gravel hill, so i might have to include that every Saturday form now on.

Did the Serpe 5km on Friday in 21.10 which gets me back to where I was in May last year before I went all ultra last summer. Didnt do Parkrun this weekend as calfs were a bit on the sore side.

true that. Part of my route used to be from new beckenham, up lennard road, through penge, then through the park from the penge west entrance, running up to the top of crystal palace parade. Worked out you are basically going up hill constantly for about 2.5-3 miles, albeit some bits are steeper than others... a very good work out, and the rest of the run seems a piece of piss after that! used to carry on to herne hill and then back through east dulwich/forest hill after that...

ah i miss running. Totally ruined my knees from it though. Maybe I will give it another go but try limit myself to a max of 6 miles per run? or maybe its not worth it? being able to walk would be handy when i'm older i guess?!

I'm running the London British 10K in July, I've never been much of a runner. But am now up to 3K in around 20 mins without stopping! woop,woop! Ok I'm not going to get the nod for 2012, but its a big deal for me :-)

good luck with that - and well done so far! just keep running - if you can go out at least 3 times a week and just extend it a little each time.
