It's very easy, once you already know a team have lost, to put together an article suggesting the fault lies with the choice of players.
Well i expressed my view before the game it was a poor selection. To anyone who would listen

Technicslly we have cover for PVA....one Jeffrey Schlupp! Every team has injuries. Every team ocassionally has to use a player out of position to cover injuries. We play players out of position as a norm. Ward could cover LB or AWB could and ward go RB.

So we have finally found the answer to our largely abysmal home record since 2013. The 'negativity' of the crowd. Nothing of course to do with the manager or the players. It's the crowd's fault.

Well, that's good to know. Be positive everyone. From now on. Then we'll see some stonking home performances the rest of the season.

Think it would start Improving.
Any form of Negativity spreads to the Players & effects their Performance.
If Supporters show some Positivity the Results will Improve,as the Performances have been Good.

Ha ha ha!

The poor luvs. Must be a real struggle having the backing of the HF and the rest of the crowd behind you. The unreasonable pressure and expectation really must weigh upon these five to six figure a week earners. No wonder we've nearly lost half of our home games these last 6 years.

I don't agree that positive fans = better home performances but it's definitely true that negativity around the stadium adds to the pressure and that was definitely true on Saturday.

At one point in the second half, McArthur lost the ball outside the box and clearly mouthed 'eff off' towards the HF as the entire stand groaned at him.

You could see the pressure throughout: Wilf, PVA, McArthur all made a few basic errors that can only be down to pressure.

This is partly why I hate all this guff about 'best fans in the league', and all the spotty teenagers mouthing off on Twitter. Without fail, that kind of braggadocio comes back to bite you on the arse.

Likewise, the players are acutely aware of the criticism (or praise) they get on social media. They're not stupid.

Wow, serious? I don't get there that often, bit worrying if so

Why the HF though, I bet the groans weren't just from there? Prolly frustration at himself on Jimmy's part?

True that the pressure is a killer on the boys

More towards that end of the stand - and probably telling himself to **** off as much as anything. Anybody else see that?

Should add that a bit of passion and anger is not necessarily a bad thing.

I guess "wand of a left foot" might be a bridge too far though?

We've put up with so much shite at home all season and you think a few groans is bad? After all these months? Bloody hell.

Maybe Hodgson and the players need to grow up and grow a pair. Because their lame, pathetic performance had NOTHING to do with the crowd.

Do you think he was telling the fans to 'f off'? Its far more likely it was exasperation with himself.

Yeah I saw it. The '**** off' seemed more in frustration at himself, but he also put his hand up apologetically then gestured with his hands to calm down to the crowd when they were giving him a bit of stick for it, seemed more aimed at the front rows of Block B/C/D than HF specifically.

I did think at that point that they must feel the expectation from the crowd, during these games particularly. Most of the time the switch off when playing, but he was certainly well aware of our reaction. Wilf and PVA at one point looked at the crowd in expectation, after a misplaced pass/poor touch as well.

Whilst I'm sure its the same everywhere else, we do seem to have changed as a fan base, expecting to beat the teams of a similar standing to us, whereas 3/4 years ago, we would just be supporting the club come what may. I guess that happens when you stay up for longer than expected.

Didn't see the Jimmy Mac incident but would be sure he was cursing himself. I know some people don't believe it but the players do care.

The last paragraph is nearly spot on. We are now expecting to beat teams of a similar or higher standing than us. Some fans have became a bit entitled and their personal expectations have become unrealistic.
