The simple fact is the key should Cabaye and Remy be signing will be Alan Pardew, and the influence he had on these players previously will be crucial. Salary wise, should not be a problem if we have to compete with the likes of say Swansea.

I don't think swansea or southampton is game over anymore. Not like it would have been before. Spurs worry me, they come in and I'd expect to lose him.

The other two though. We have pardew, we have London, we can now compete on wages unless they really break the bank. If we have genuine ambition re signings then we are a very attractive prospect. Especially to the ex pardew gang. That's why I think it's very important we get one or two of these big signings done ASAP. That will make a statement of intent and make us far more attractive

this is often quoted as a key factor, i´m not so sure. I think it helps a little but nothing more. When you look for a job does working for someone you´ve worked for before play an important role? For me it doesn´t, it´s a consideration but nothing more.

In the real world that we all live in, no, but this is football and working with previous coaches and managers that have been there when you have been in exceptional form is something to bounce back on. It happens all the time in the football world

See, without having any inside knowledge, I can see the opposite happening.

BA has just had his best ever season scoring 28 in all competitions. Remy and Cabaye have been left in the cold for the majority of the season and hardly played. Chelsea will replace Remy or at least push him down the pecking order, as they did with BA.

The only chance we have of getting any of those 3 players will be Pardew and the fact he has worked with all 3 of them previously; before they all got moves to clubs competing for titles. Newcastle were the best these players could get before their spells there under Pardew.
