Wonder what Parish and especially Browett make of his politics.
lol

Why would his personal political beliefs have any impact on his business relationship in respect of Palace? You really think that our 'reluctant buyers' give a hoot? When there is a yankee dollar to be made any political preferences go out the window.

Having read the article twice now it appears Hosking is using his own personal wealth?

Now I'm no fan of brexit by any stretch, and if I had a spare 700k spare I wouldn't be spending it on this sort of political stunt, but surely he is entitled to spend his fortune how he sees fit.

We used to have a back alley behind our house where all the kids would play.Hitching a ride on the back of the coal lorry as he made deliveries was a weekly highlight.

Not built for it really. Skinny and 6ft 3. You really needed to be short and stocky. And the coal dust wasn't great for a man with one lung....

As was totally predicted, the NI/Eire border is going to prove to be a huge task to resolve. Now we have Davis again trying to further complicate the issue when he has no say in how the talks are going to be conducted. Its beginning to look more like a sulky walk away no deal for the UK, with the NI scenario unresolved, with all the horrible consequences that will bring about.

Of course another way of looking at it was that after the war we were skint having borrowed an enormous amount from the Yanks and having to pay it back. Jerry had the Marshall plan to get them back on their feet. Forget the Empire they'd had enough by then and had become a millstone anyway.

That debt basically left us to fall behind in the fifties, fortunately the 60's went better but from the outset the 70's were derailed by the unions. The 80's, the oil, as good as free money is it pushed the pound very high which basically killed manufacturing.

Thatcher and Foot destroyed socialism which didn't really show its ugly head again until Gordon Brown took charge. Thankfully between him the financial crash, Millipede and Corbyn its not making a comeback anytime soon.

There you are a potted history of British economics.

This is a very sobering and worrying article. Would be nice if some of the leavers on here can provide some counter argument comfort:

Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply reporting that European buyers are already moving part or all of supply from U.K. to Single Market. 44% reportedly.

EU buyers confident hard Brexit can be effectively managed this way.

Hosking suddenly in the news after avoiding it completely since he was part of CPFC2010. Can't say I agree with what he's doing but don't hate him for it.

It's really quite interesting how all the bad news about Brexit in the business pages of the broadsheets makes no appearance at all in the pro Brexit tabloids. Arewn't they doing their readers a disservice not telling them about all the jobs that have been and will be lost?

Banner headlines take up far too much room in a tabloid to provide that kind of stuff. Anyway, many of their readers can't see much below font size 32.

Bloody thick tabloid readers eh ?

Its probably that project fears latest reveals in the business pages are just couldbes and maybes and mights and possibles as usual and the 68% just want the government to get on with #Brexit. They have had enough of false fears and just rumours.

It could also be that with less and less fear news being put out, the tabloids are getting on with #Brexit, something the "business pages" should perhaps concentrate on doing, and get behind the majority of the UK people who now want #Brexit to happen.

I notice that on this thread the fear and doom posters are struggling to find "bad news" to post and that their glum more bad news posts are but a trickle and have almost dried up. Perhaps another indication of the acceptance by even the hard remainers (now down to 1 in 5 of voters) that things aint been and wont be as bad as they want things to be for their country.

Plenty of project fear from T May along the lines of the EU is tring to interfere withy the election. Is that the kind of crap you are looking for?
