Jack Wilshere (signed for West Ham 09/07/2018)

Obviously out of the England squad but as far as I know still hasn't signed a new deal with Arsenal.

Anyway, we are probably losing 1 or possibly 2 important midfielders this summer and Wilshire did manage quite a lot of games this season. I presume Roy has a relationship with him from his England days.

I understand all the reasons for doubting him (mainly injuries) but could he also be a potentially smart move if no transfer fee is involved?

Except he's made 38 appearances this season and 29 the season before.

Quite high I'd imagine but so would/ will Cabaye's and Loftus-Cheek.

I have looked. Anyway, yes, out of contract this summer but has been offered a new deal by Arsenal which he hasn't signed yet.

Wolves being linked to him too.

Okay, thanks.

He's one of those players that can make good stuff happen, good passer and a decent shot on him. He just doesn't seem that Palace though (whatever that might be). I guess he has a good relationship with Hodgson, and if he lays off the ciggies could be an excellent signing. Certainly a risk though.

He's another one like Shakiri, would love the talent, but there is a but.

For me, Shaqiri is a far more talented player than Wilshere, and always has been.

Because of the injuries or what? I mean he has played a lot for Arsenal this season so he is obviously talented and he has played a lot of football over the last two years.

I didn't mean in terms of talent as such, more that they're both players that I'd like here, but both have baggage of sorts. Somehow we've managed to get a good bunch of players here that all appear to give a ****, I do wonder whether either of those would tbh. I could of course be doing them a huge injustice, but neither seem to have the character of other players with less ability.

Another one for Hodgson's better judgement.

If Loftus Cheek goes back to Chelsea we'd need someone of a similar ability.
I'd say yes as long as he can play the majority of games.

That's kind of my feeling. If we do lose Loftus-Cheek (very likely) and possibly Cabaye too, we will really need to find some quality. Grealish might not be the worst bet if Villa don't go up (but then they might well do so).

Think he will sign for Arsenal. Really wanted him and would be a great replacement for Cabaye but not going to happen
