FORMER Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra is eyeing a return to the Premier League with a potential takeover at Crystal Palace. Shinawatra, the ex-Prime Minister of Thailand has opened talks with the London club, 11 years after selling up at the Etihad. According to Goal, billionaire Shinawatra has made contact with Eagles chairman Steve Parish and is prepared to buy the club for around £150million. Shinawatra, 69, is prepared to spend big to help current boss Roy Hodgson improve the squad and look to break into the top ten. Palace beat Bournemouth 5-3 to finish 12th in the league. Miti Tiyapairat, ex-president of Thai top-flight side Chiangrai United, expects a deal to be concluded soon. He told ONE31: “Currently, there are negotiations about price, management, and some other details, which should be ironed out soon. “The deal is about £150m.” Tiyapairat hinted he could be part of the new regime at Selhurst Park under Shinawatra. He added: “I'm up for the task, It's been my profession since I worked in management at Chiangrai United, although it is obviously a challenging role. Surely this is only £150m for the Americans share and we're just replacing the Americans with this guy? |

I'm a bit well meh about this but you should see the weed fora. Absolutely wetting themselves. Parish is a "car crash" owner, the only decent player he could find is one who dives all the time (he must do because it says so in The Sun) and this deal means we're going straight down the toilet and they can't believe their luck. Oh, and in other news they sacked their manager this morning :-)
What f***wits. I look forward to being comfortably established in the middle of the Premier League when their Mr Bloom blows the whistle and decides he wants his debt repaid. |

Our current billionaires never fronted up anything super large but this guy could be looking for a vanity project.

If there's any truth in this, tell him to f**k off, Mr Parish. We've had some 'interesting' owners over the years, but I'm not sure we need a convicted criminal. Hopefully all bollocks.

It's never boring is it...... one day after the end of the season.
There may be hope for the E400 to retain their seats yet... ![]() |

Oh christ no. As much as I'm pissed with parish regarding E400 he is an important part to our club. Hopefully it's a load of bollocks.

Hopefully a load of made up rubbish.
Could be a complete disaster if it happened we need stability or an owner who would invest in the infrastructure and the academy rather than splash money on overpriced players! Fortunately the FFP rules restrict us on player wages. |

If he buys the American investors shares and pumps some money in then why not, as long as main control stays with parish

Also the Americans own circa. 70% of the clubs shares, doubt many people will want a stake that large without direct control

The Yanks have added zero to the club other than a larger sell on price.
