Palace 0-2 Man City

Nothing awful. The blueprint works but we are playing top sides. We win way more than we should and more than most do.

We conceded two.. the only error was Luka playing his man offside when he wasnít by a mile but otherwise itís more quality than blame to attach to the goals.

We hit the bar and forced a great save too.

Overall fine

Wayne motm. Sorry haters he was. Great back up

Ward, Cahill, Pva, jimmy and ayew were very good.

Itís fine

We faced a cracking team. No shame there

I can live with that score. Couldve been much worse. Wilf was off his game because we couldnt mount an attack without exposing ourselves at the back to a very quick team who pinged the ball around like crazy. Unfortunately his head really wasnt in it. Great effort by the team. They deserve fans to stay and applaud their efforts at the end of the game

A bit wasteful from them and coukd have been more but 2nd half better than the 1st. Benteke very unlucky. I was sure he'd scored for 1/2 second.

Hennessey had a very good game, despite if being picky could've done better for second. Cahill brilliant again. PVA decent and Ward. No one disgraced themselves against pretty much the best club side in the world. We will get points from the next few, mark my words.

I think most of us would have taken that before the game. City are simply too good for their mini-blip to last too long. They were averaging over 3 goals per game, we kept them to less than that whilst other teams have crumbled.

A good result, with Wayne shining through. He has improved immensely since Dean Kiely arrived and he has had a more solid defence and midfield in front of him, thanks in no small part to Roy. We can have no worries on the goalkeeper front. Any goalkeeper will eventually crumble with poor defenders in front of him - see David de Gea. All imho, of course.

We move on. AND we are still 6th. All in all, that is not too bad

As i mentioned on the Benteke thread, we should have played his type of game today. Lump it up to him, give city defensive headaches. Instead Palace sat back and let City dictate. When you play a team of that quality you sometimes have to play ugly hoofball. There is no place for out from the back against a side like that.

Yep. As soon as he won it a few times, they brought a centre back on.

Heís not what it was, but wouldíve been his type of game.

Cannot be critical of Wayne's performance today at all. Kept us in it. The second goal was one of those you'd hope he might save but rarely does. Cahill, Tomkins and even Ward weren't bad either. Our out ball especially ones into space and behind a high defence, were absolute shite today. We were never getting out with that piss poor level of passing and stood off them too much.

Overall I think 0-2 flattered us ironically City scored when they started to be a bit sloppy in their play and let us get back into it.

2 quick goals and was game over lucky to escape without any more punishment.

City had so much possession was a very difficult day for us and tough to get any foothold in the game.

In the end we were always going to lose . However for 80 minutes we were so passive , just letting them have the ball not really pressurising them and in honesty in was a training exercise for them . For the 10 minutes when we upped the pace and had more aggression , they wobbled a bit - their defence is not great apart from keeper .
Think having Townsend on just gave us a bit of width and someone who could run with the ball . Credit to Hennessey thought he was very good today ,

Spot on! Sat back and offered **** all against a wounded City. They didnít have a recognised CB and we didnít even test them! Pathetic.

Come on they had players that cost a fortune in every position we expected to lose we did but we also had a few chances if the header is not saved it would have been a great finish to the game. WH played great and bar Schlupp who was not good the rest all did well.

Didnt have to do that for 3-2 at theirs. Easy in hindsight.

My thoughts as well. City had two midfielders in defense - stick Benteke amongst them and launch it long. Get players around him and take your chances on the 50/50 balls. One of Hennessey's strengths is his big kick - use it. Its not pretty, but sometimes you got to drag a team down to your level.

Frustrating game all round

Forget the fact they have better players, they worked much harder than we did without the ball, so we were always rushed when we had it.

Some decent attacking moments second half, and we would have scored twice but for two world class saves

First goal was a joke though, and ridiculously poor marking, leaving Jesus unmarked in the 6 yard box

Some very good performances, Wayne, and Kouyate in particular

Schlupp was awful and Wilf apparently disinterested for 80 odd minutes

Game could have been 8-2, they missed some ridiculously easy chances as well as those Wayne saved

We weren't embarrassed against an incredible team who had the extra motivation after their loss against Wolves.

Was a bit disappointed with Wilf who only came to life at all in the last 15 minutes. Benteke very unlucky, he needs something to go his way to have any chance of gaining confidence. Great game to keep the score down by Hennessey.

Unfortunately Roy has plan a , which didn't work at all today . Would have been nice to see something else tried but its not going to happen with Roy .
