The slow build up was wank .... why just why?

We lack pace all over the pitch. Zaha is halfhearted at the moment. It's a job to see how anything will change with the squad we have.

Guaita 6 Made one great save from a header in the 2nd half. I thought he could've done better for goal 2. There was a cross into the box in the 1st half which he didn't deal with. Good save 1st half from Vardy.

Ward 7 Thought he had a good game. Made plenty of tackles and got forward. I loved a little back flick he did near their box in the 2nd half.
Tomkins 7 Made a great last ditch tackle on Vardy. Pressured Vardy into not scoring when he got in behind the defence in the 1st half.
Cahill 6 Played on bravely after taking a knock. From what I have been told he lost Soyuncu for goal 1. Will need to watch it back.
Van Aanholt 7 Thought he was poor in the 1st half. All of the Leicester attacks seemed to come from that side. Second half he won plenty of tackles and was energetic. Should've passed to Wilf during a promising attack in the 2nd half.

Zaha 7 Skillfull and looked a threat. Some nice dribbles. Largely ineffective as we couldn't give him the ball.
McArthur 7 MOTM.Thought he did a good job in an understated sort of way. He covered space, he won tackles, he moved the ball well and fought hard.
Kouyate 7 He also carried on after taking a knock bravely. He got stuck in well. He was taken out badly to stop a 2nd half counter attack.
Milivojevic 6 I didn't notice him much.
Schlupp 6 Same as Milivojevic. He did have a promising shot blocked in the 2nd half though.

Ayew 6 Fought hard. He didn't have any service, but he did everything to get involved, including defending from the front and fighting hard to hold the ball up

Subs:

Meyer 5 Had no impact on the game.
Benteke 5 Same as Meyer.
McCarthy 5 Same as Meyer and Benteke.

Overall Leicester are a great team. I would describe them as better than the sum of their individual parts. They are a well balanced team, with a good mix of attributes and have an exvellent manager in Rodgers. Leicester's recruitment is superb. They have built a good team without breaking the bank. If they stay injury free they will make the top 4. They are better than Arsenal and Man Utd. It will be between Leicester , Chelsea and Spurs to join Man City and Liverpool.

Overall 9th place is a good start for us.

Kelly should start ahead of any partner for Cahill (we should try three CBs as we have some quality, especially with Sakho back) - some dreadful losing of the ball cheaply to put us under pressure. One excellent save but both goals were saveable. Their cheaper version of his dad had nothing to do in the whole match. Really did not think that Leicester were that good. Bloody awful thick ref as well. Annoyed at the lack of commitment (running at the keeper?) so Jimmy stood out a mile for me.

Tbf to Roy, mac and Koyote were injured. If he took off Schlupp as well Luka would have been our entire center midfield.

I agree Kelly should start. He deserves to play with his performances this season.

He plays well with Cahill.

Didn’t actually think we were that bad with our approach play, but then the final ball or shot was generally rank. Leicester weren’t much better, a bit sloppy with their passing, but they were just more clinical.
For us, first half better than second.
Wilf not really at the races, Schlupp poorest player on pitch, should have been taken off for Benteke. PVA’s passing is constantly abject, even when under no pressure.
MOM McArthur in both attacking and defending aspects.

Guaita. 6 Better distribution than WH. Couldn’t do much with either goal
Ward. 7 MOTM. Did well against quick attackers and England full back
PVA 4. Another woeful performance. Can’t defend and ineffective going forward today.
Cahill 6. Solid performance. Carried on after a nasty looking injury
Tomkins 5. Not back to full power after his long lay off.
Wilf 5. Didn’t get on the ball enough but not really his fault.
Luka 6. Improving from his slow start to the season. Dead balls poor again.
Kouyate 6. Powerful and tried to drive forward at times. Took a battering and we were weakened when he went off.
Macca 6. Usual energy and work rate but looked like another forced substitution.
Schlupp 3. One word ... terrible!
Ayew 6. Worked hard and held it up well first half. Not on the ball enough second.
Benteke. One good flick on, Wilf slipped over.
Meyer. Didn’t get into the game at all.
McCarthy. Ditto

Overall decent start and solid first half. Didn’t create enough, there were passes on to Wilf that players ignored and shot from way out.
Still in it at 0-1 but enforced subs and changing game plan to chase the equaliser weakened us making it inevitable that Vardy would score a late one.
They are a good side with several creative players and a proven goal scorer. We have one creative player, several workmanlike players and no out and out striker. The better team won.

So sad but I'm the same. Mixture of a lot of things groundhog season every year in terms of the squad, the premier league is just sh*t, VAR, the atmosphere Is becoming very scripted, modern football, it's just lost so much.

he was a bit disappointing, but hes been chucked on at left midfield chasing a game. he should be playing as a no.10 ,you dont go from being one of the best midfielders in the bundesliga to shite over night.

First 15 minutes and first 5 minutes of the second half we were looking like a threat, but the rest of the game we were clear second best. Leicester are a very good side this season, but we helped them a lot by giving the ball away numerous times and putting ourselves in trouble. Our attacking play was very limited apart from the 20 minutes mentioned above and Leicester were able to cruise to an easy win in the end.

You can see from Roy's post match interview that he is very frustrated with our lack of options up front, and therefore he has decided that a super-pragmatic approach is what will do best for us. Last week that served us well as we stabilised after going 2-0 down early on, but we attacked with more purpose and cohesion than was evident today.
The sudden vulnerability from corners is worrying, as is the continued lack of quality from our own set pieces.

I very very rarely do this but PVA today had an absolute howler barring one moment where he cleared behind with a Leicester player bearing down on goal. It would be good if he used his pace to play down the line then burst forward, instead of turning inside and playing one of the centre backs into trouble, and his passing today was awful. Also, Schlupp was very close behind with his performance, he cannot play that position and shouldn't be asked to. We need Townsend plus the players that went off injured to be fit for next Saturday. I would agree with some posters previously that Ward, McArthur and Kouyate were the few that put in a decent display. Wilf is still playing at 75%, but to be fair he got himself in good positions a couple of times and wasn't given the ball.

Hopefully this was just a poor day at the office, after a good result last week. Two more tough games before a much better run of fixtures on paper.

Thing is with Luka, Kouyate, Schlupp and Jimmy we're never going to play particularly brilliant creative football. Against lower half of the table teams they are a powerful combination with loads of PL experience who will keep possession, out-muscle the opposition and, occasionally, either provide a pass to a more creative outlet - Wilf/Andros/PVA - or, sometimes do it themselves - a la Jimmy v Arsenal. Against Leicester I thought they competed well, but were never going to give us a real edge.

Not sure what the answer is. Watching Roy's post-match interview he concedes that Max is a more creative player for us, but also says that with him on the pitch and switching to two up front we got caught for the second goal. It's the PL connundrum isn't it.
