Most definitely. Hopefully as soon as PP for the bodge is granted.

According to the notes that came with it, the block over the top of the Sainsbury’s is supposedly meant to be the new Supporters Social Club...
Good stuff CP.

With any luck this means that we did reach an agreement to build above Sainsbury's back then, which hopefully bodes well for the future.

Would not get to carried away thinking about work being done on other stands.
Got to get planning for the Mainstand and that is very doubtful and i think Parish will look a bit of a tool when it gets rejected. He was told what the issues were and didnt listen. Pushed on with the Presser and big reveal despite being told its unlikely to be passed as it was. Train of thought that if enough noise is made it might make people listen and pass the plans. Planning is far different than that and this will take years of negotiations before getting the green light.

My first ever Palace match

We won 5-0 - I was suckered in on false pretences

Why is it doubtful?
Don't you think the club would have gained advice from the Planning Dept about what would & wouldn't be acceptable, before putting in the application?
Do you know for a fact that he was told it wouldn't, or wasn't likely, to be passed?

Well, at least you got one decent year out of the next ten when we beat Burnley to lift the Second Division Championship a year later in 1979!

Well, guess what ? You don't get a vote and the owners think they can build attendances up to around 40K.
Better concentrate on the day job.

Really? Obviously ok v the big guns but against the likes of Burnley and Bournemouth? If the owners think that then they have lost the plot.

I should point out that largely agreeing with you doesn't mean that I agree with your views on the new stand (even though I shall almost certainly be unable to find a 'like for like' seat when it's completed), nor 'Suprastadios'.

Whether you are for or against it, the architects and planning agent have ensured that just about every point and criticism raised during the pre-app process has been addressed.

The club are even willing to give over much of the 'Exec' car park on matchdays to a 'fan plaza' (not sure how used it would be on cold wet evening matches), which is quite a compromise.

It is still possible that the Council might still opt to have 20 Wooderson Close removed as well (one extra house) as it comes out pretty badly in the sunlight/daylight survey

I would be quite surprised if it is refused when it goes to the planning committee meeting for it's decision.

Until the new stand is finished and been in use at least a year, we have no idea if any extra capacity is needed in the ground. We might not even sell out games if tickets are priced too high in the new stand.

Regards the Whitehorse Lane end. If we have the prefab boxes there, then we must have some sort of flying freehold or some sort of lease. An upper tier would be much better for your normal fan than having those boxes, especially as there will be boxes and all sorts of posh facilities in the Main Stand.

A concourse for any upper tier would be a squeeze though, unless you convert what is currently Crystals nightclub

Crystals converted to a lounge similar to the current Stephenson's would be a huge step forward for WH fans.

It doesn’t make best commercial sense to build a stadium that neatly accommodates your lowest league gates.

Assuming we are turning away plenty of business for the ‘big guns’ as you call them, we should build a stadium that maximises the profits on those days. I’m confident we’ll sell 30,000 then.

We can then also reconsider how to make the smaller matches more attractive eg lower priced ticket deals.

That's fair enough, I wouldn't expect you to. Some people clearly want to be miles from the pitch instead of right next to it. The way we play sometimes maybe it's a blessing. Each to their own I guess.

Well if that's how you think then just cement everything to a slope and everyone can bring their own chairs. Capacity crowds every week.

Looking at the executive options it looks like they've spent a fair bit on the Legends restaurant so there may not be the rush to replace them for a while. Noticeable though that our exec deals haven't sold out for the Spurs game.
