Burgerís Leicester point is fair enough but they were also lucky insofar as all the Usual Suspects were inconsistent and performed below expectations, which is unlikely to happen again. Arsenal came second with only 71 points, whereas this year.......

(Not saying Leicester didnít deserve it, by the way, even though Iíve never liked them since they kicked us off the Wembley pitch in the play-off final.)

It's how I see it. Been think about this a bit lately and I must admit I used to dispise the greed league but imo they provide a platform for all clubs in the premier to compete to a degree and then its upto those individual clubs to grow their infrastructure themselves with funds not penalised against FFP.

They divide the premier league base line contract evenly of over £100m each. Then the rest is divided by number of times you've been on TV and finishing position which I guess is fair enough. Could you imagine the Spanish version where Barcelona and Real Madrid get the vast majority of the share something obscene like 80%. Clubs like us would receive peanuts. We wouldn't be able to attract quality players to the club and would never be in a position to demand what we see fit for Wilf and AWB. We'd be forced to accept the first offer going to stay afloat.

Yep. I get some of the issues with the insane money involved etc, but the premiership is brilliant. The money is just supply and demand and this league is followed like no other sport world wide because itís brilliant.

Brits love to slag off the popular and successful though. Itís fasionable to slag off the premiership and pretend to be a Ďculturedí football fan that watches more Spanish or Italian football

Next season is key as the way overseas broadcasting income is split changes, currently, it is split evenly amongst the 20 clubs. From next season it will depend on the league position similar to domestic broadcasting income favouring the bigger clubs.

Will it?

I thought that was just a proposal from the big clubs that was vetoed by the majority?

Slaven Bilic once said that TV money evens up the game if distributed fairly. It was a few years ago but he said that if Chelsea got an extra £60m they could buy two players slightly better than what they had. If a lower to mid table got £60m they could buy 5 who would improve the squad in terms of quality and depth.

Bournemouth will have to apply the brakes like us as anything over 70% is not considered sustainable.

And we can only hope that will depend on it being a decent competition, i.e. they need to give a decent share of broadcasting to lower clubs to keep it competitive.
That will all change when UEFA get their European super league approved. The aim being to be take over from the EPL as the most watched league worldwide at which point the TV money in this country will massively reduce.

Personally if that happens I think we should expel the clubs that join in for trying to ruin our national game and make them rejoin at the bottom most league if they want to be involved in English football again. That would give a massive funding boost to the lower leagues too!

Wickham and Benteke are cossting us £10m per year in wages. I wonder what percentage that is alone.

Probably 10-15%.

Unfortunately there is no breakdown between what the players are paid and what the admin staff (including management team) are paid.

Based on the latest Sun article about Wilf it does seem like they do genuinely want to sell up.

Quite annoying really considering we were always a long term project due to the state of the ground, and that was the main reason they were brought in. Not only that but they approved the signing of Benteke, which was always going to be a big gamble and Parish said at the time he thought it was mad.

We can only hope that whoever comes in can see the potential we have and properly sort the ground out.

They were always in to make a quick buck.
They never were long term owners.
Weíll be better off without them in the long run, they really havenít added much to the club.

You could be right but why would billionaires just want to make a quick buck? There has to be something more to this than that.

they are private equity. Spending 100m on the stand makes zero financial sense

How many times.
These guys are not cash billionaires. Most of their money is tied up in funds etc.
They specialise in buying businesses, growing them and selling them.
With the money in the premier league theyíve done what they wanted to do and the easy money has been taken. Now comes the hard work. Theyíre not interested in that, in a business they donít know.
