Has looked pretty decent when he has been able to play given how much he's been out. But still clearly rusty and every time he plays for ten minutes he's back in the physio room. Well, I suppose the club must have taken the right advice before doing this so hey ho.

The club are basically protecting themselves. A decent fee this summer is out of the question given his injury, so he is likely to be our player next season. If he is fully fit and pre season conditioned and gets in the squad and playing, we now know he wouldn’t go on a free next summer, and gives the option of a fee at that time if we decide he’s not what we need.

His likelihood of playing time this year was limited once Bats arrived and that would have given him the time to continue his long term rehab. If fit, he is perfectly capable as one of a selection of three or so strikers next season.

Stays fit for about 2 weeks then he's out injured for 3-4 months.
Not sure on this one but decent player when fit.

Palace's management obviously rate him as they have extended his contract.

Connor has scored some stunning goals when he has played for Palace at every level and unfortunately for him and us after battling back into Roy's plans he picked up another injury which ruled him out of a return to first team action.

When fit he does carry a goal threat and that has been missing from the team as shown by how few goals our strikers scored last season.

Hey, WTF! you come on here, the BBS, and during silly season, and you dare to speak such good reasonable sense!

Fingers crossed for the lad, please stay fit

From his perspective it’s job security and a chance to play in PL if he can get fully fit.

So much negativity on here about a bloke whose worst crime was to get injured. And injuries are mainly (although I accept not totally) down to luck. With a bit of good luck, which he deserves, he can stay fit and start to prove people wrong.

I hope he does.

I realised that’s what you meant after I posted and edited!

I imagine he will be confident he can get back to his former form and fitness levels and force his way into match day squad.

If he does get crocked and has to retire he has the security of a contract.

In fairness, I don't think anyone on here doesn't appreciate he's a bloody good player and talented when fit. Most are just frustrated because he is such a good player when fit, holds a massive threat and yet can't seem to keep himself fit and show this more regularly. That's where the negativity comes from.

Good player who has managed to stay fit the past month plus so hopefully has now come through. When you have the serious injury he has niggles and setbacks are incredibly common.

Hoping we will finally see the best of him next season. We will still need to be a little patient but think he can make a real impact from the bench.

Well he's guaranteed himself a wage for an additional 12 months, irrespective of fitness, so hardly surprising he's signed.

Hope he can stay fit and play a part though, always thought he was a good player

1 year left on 50k
2 years on 35k for example, frees up a small bit of money this year and also should we move him on at the end of the season the year 2 cost is irrelevant. In addition means we can look for a 6 month loan if we want knowing he can always come back.

He is a talented player, just needs games.

Connor Wickham

Weíve just lost 2, possibly 3 striker if we move on Sorloth permanently as he clearly hasnít got a future here. Selling another sticker would be ******* stupid, so a short extension makes sense.

But hey, donít let me stop you bashing our own players.
