The real point is though that Millwall fans are the most self congratulatary, smug going when it comes to just how marvellous you think your support is and always happy to have a dig at Palace. Yet week in week out you struggle to sell out anywhere away, forget Boro or Barnsley type places, we're talking grounds within 1 hour of The Den. At home it's the same; for a bog standard league fixture you struggle to get 5 figures. But then you play Leeds, West Ham or Palace or have a cup run and all your woodworm fanbase emerges. And you all walk round, deluded thinking you are the best fans in the planet.

From your reply, there still seems to be some rule you follow about crowd size trumping all, so I guess in your mind, you're not allowed to chant anything at the opposition fans when you play the 14 teams in the Championship with higher averages than Palace.

As for Brighton and their crowd size, I can tell, its killing you.
Have to say I agree with you. Crowd size is pretty irrelevant, and I have no problem believing you regarding the chants. The atmosphere at the Den is absolute gash most weeks, so I don't doubt there often arent any such songs.

Excuse me, Mr Smartarse - when, exactly, did the Football Association or the Football League start handing out trophies on the advice of Adrian Durham?

You need to face up to reality, you thick smallwall twonk - you follow the least successful club in the history of South London Football - 128 years and only TWO lousy seasons in the top flight of football - that means over 126 of being a minor club - far behind not only, Charlton and Palace - but, God help you pathetic wankers - Wimbledon too.

Not only couldn't you win the FA Cup - on your useless club's only appearance in the Final - the 'Lions' are noted in football folklore as the most useless finalists in the history of the modern game - why, even Adrian Durham has confirmed this sad fact!

As for the size of your crowd - it's no real surprise, seeing how often the lowlife filth that masqerades as 'Millwall Supporters' often try to jump into grounds without the courtesy of paying in the first place - have massive difficulty in stumping up the necessary cash to pay to get in after deducting the cost of living from your social security handouts and carers fees.

What a complete joke of a club Millwall are. Not only completely crap at being a football club - but at being human beings too.

What a pitiful collection of idiots you all are - a 'South London' club - named after a filthy old pile of bricks in East London!

Mill Wall - not exactly a 'Palace' is it?

Is that the best you've got?

Fair enough Brighton are getting very good crowds nowadays but this is mainly due to your arch-nemesis, "the middle class supporters" that you so love to tag us with. As you know our ground is very old and in need of replacing, where as you have a brand new blue and yellow rust-bucket where you can still barely manage to get 9k in to.

When we finally do get a new ground we will be getting big crowds similar to Brighton's (if not bigger depending on if we move to Crystal Palace Park), where as you will still be playing your "old skool" card (which seems to involve singing the same old songs you've always sang plus throwing some veg around).

I agree the crowd card is a poor one to play but ultimately if your club and fans dont buck their ideas up you will be playing League 1 (or 2) for the rest of your days. Be honest, the fact is killing you.

There's nothing wrong with having a modest support, quality not quantity etc. But having actually a quite big support, as Millwall do, but a 'support' who live in the woodwork 95% of the time is the problem, particularly when these same people think they are the greatest fans in the world and give us patronising lectures on the subject.

Mrs tasty_snacks had the pleasure of a few of their ilk joining the train at South Bermondsey tonight on the way home from work. Apparently conversation centred on who had hit which steward, and how for the next match, they were all going to wear balaclavas so they could get away with it. Sigh.

They were on the southbound train to East Croydon, double sigh.
