Brian Sparrow, really rated him when we got him from Arsenal youth, I think. No idea what happened to him, I am sure he played a few seasons for us until players like John Pemberton must have replaced him, then he just disappeared.

He later returned as a part of the coaching set up.

Pretty sure it was Barnsley, one of the Christmas / New Year games.

David Whyte. I pretty much remember he was our next big hope after Wright. Remember him scoring away to Chelsea in a 1-1 draw. Think he started his Palace career scoring quite few goals but then he disappeared.

Sir Steve summed it up “Started off like a house on fire ended up like a house burnt down”.

He did pretty well at Charlton for a couple of years but then seemed to drift out of the game. Sadly died a few years ago at a horribly young age, I never did find out what caused his untimely death.

Took over when Ray Lew got seriously ill in the 97/98 season. Our performances seriously dropped off soon after.

Dennis Bailey played for 20 clubs in a 20-year career. I thought one of them was Exeter City. Turns out, that was Danny Bailey. He played for 24 clubs in his career.

Was one of them Watford, seeing as Elton John had a song about him... (Danny Baily that is)

He definitely played for Farnborough as I used to regularly watch them in the late 90's

I read a while back, that prior to Bailey (for QPR) The previous player to net a treble at old Trafford was Kevin Mabbutt (for Bristol City)
