Seems weird to me Londoners not supporting a London team in Europe.
When I left back in 1980, It was any London team against anyone... FA cup included.

Hilario is a quality name!!
I have visions of him turning up with a big red nose in a car that falls apart when he parks up. I saw this on the BBC gossip column. Can anyone tell me what happened in the game in question to cause such terrible memories? From BBC: Chelsea's third-choice goalkeeper Henrique Hilario, who will be thrown in at the deep end against Barcelona on Wednesday, has terrible memories of facing the Spanish giants. (Daily Express)

I've always gone for the team playing Man Ure and really still do in Europe. I will support Liverpool or anyone else that gets in though.
Barca to take all 3 points for me

He let in 4 goals against Manchester Utd after Baia went to Barca; apparently he lost his nerve. Has done nothing since.

I've developed a nasty habit of muttering "c*nt" whenever I see a Chelsea shirt/badge/sticker or hear someone talking about them fondly. Considering I don't really venture out of South London/Surrey on an average day, its a shame how foul mouthed I can be. Come on Barca!

It may sound sacreligious but Chelsea were the team I followed during my formative football watching days, before I 'saw the (Selhurst) light'.
Don't blame me, I cringe-worthily picked them at random because I had nobody teach me about the the wholesome virtues of supporting your local team. Although to be fair, with all of my family coming from India and us being the first generation to be born in England, it's at least understandable, even though my parents have been in South Norwood/Thornton Heath for about thirty years. Even at school, I hung around with a group of thoroughly unhelpful people: A Liverpool supporter, who by the end of our time had switched his allegiance to Fulham, as his dad supported them (and they were top of their league), a Man Utd supporter, who by the time we left, had no interest left in football and became obsessed with Warhammer and a ginger who never even liked football in the first place and called his parents by their first names! Anyway, the point is, I would always pick Chelsea to win against anyone but Palace, so I hope (and think) they'll win tonight. Cheers Fessyboys, Carlos |
