He went to see the Sky team this morning before the start of the stage (I can't find the photos any more). Froome was interviewed on French TV this morning and there wasn't any hard feeling. Considering Froome had just lost the Tour, he came across very well in his praise for Thomas. He also suggested that it had nothing to do with having the Giro in his legs, more like just having an off-day!
Would be great to see him on the attack on the Tourmalet!

Fair enough.

Would like to see something happen, given what happened in the Giro it's hard to write him off but the GC is over.

I must admit I was surprised that he was not "hors délai" yesterday when on French TV they said he was already half an hour down before that final climb.
Apparently he only lost 9 minutes to Quintana on that climb, hence Greipel's (and also my) surprise. Démare does have a bit of previous for holding on to the team car (it was the year he won Milan-San Remo). The "commissaires" are now very strict even with riders at the back of the field so I imagine Démare wouldn't have been taking any chances yesterday.

Dumoulin said he'd be having a go tomorrow 'cos he didn't think he'd make up nearly two minutes on Thomas in the TT on Saturday. He hasn't got good enough climbers in his team to do something bold, and it would be a big risk losing a 2nd place on the podium in Paris!

A spectator tried to pull Thomas off his bike towards the end of a climb today. It's getting silly now.

Colleague did the Col du Tourmalet last year, in fact he did it twice in the ride, once each way. Nearly killed him, and he is a very keen club rider. That was without the other 200km these guys are doing.

This was yesterday's stage. TBF I've seen photos of the same bloke doing the same thing to Quintana a minute or so earlier. So this isn't anti-Sky sentiment IMO. The bloke is just a complete tw*t. I think he's wearing an AG2r jersey. He'd need to knock seven riders off their bikes for Bardet to win, and even then, in typical Gallic fashion, he'd find a way to f*ck up!

Someone on the BBC saying Froome's tiredness is understandable and then calls Dumoulin unambitious! He might want to check the Giro results!

Sagan in trouble. One eye on the clock later.

What has caused this with the sprinters? Organisers need to look at this.

This IR price for Thomas is wrong, he should be fav to win the stage here. Roglic is phenomenal but GT should win this sprint

Should be a group sprint as the others can’t afford to let Roglic get away from them
