Aston Villa Away
Guaita
Ward Tomkins Cahill Mitchell Schlupp Reidewald Mcarthur Eze Benteke Zaha Major changes needed after that 'performance' today. Ward the better defender out of him and Clyne so think he should go back into the side. Tomkins for Chiek, Kouyate has looked a liability at times at CB in recent games and Tomkins is our 2nd best CB after Cahill. Mitchell for PVA after that disgraceful performance. Jairo for Luka, better passer and didn't deserve to be dropped previously. Benteke straight back in over Ayew. Last edited by Dodds; 19-12-2020 at 03:01 PM. |

Ward Tomkins Dann Mitchell Townsend Milivojevic Riedewald Eze Benteke Zaha Can’t defend that defence today. If your not gonna make serious changes after that performance and the schedule then players are far too comfortable at the club |

You have to ring the changes after that.
Guaita Ward - Tomkins - Sakho - Mitchell Schlupp - Milivojevic - Riedewald - Eze Benteke - Zaha Butland, Clyne, Dann, Kouyate, McArthur, McCarthy, Townsend, Ayew, Batshuayi This is assuming Cahill is injured. |

The worst thing you can possibly do is make wholesale changes. One or two yes but we have to let the side redeem itself.
Anything else would be a ridiculous overreaction. Did Southampton drop their entire team last season?

Clyne Dann Cahill PVA Townsend Kouyate Schlupp Eze Zaha Ayew How many crosses did Liverpool get in down the wing ... not many. How many times did we get done for pace and ripped open in the middle .. not good. Milly is too slow and Jimmy should be coming on as fresh legs with no more than 30 mins to go.

I'd bring Tomkins in for Kouyate, Mitchell in for PVA, and Jairo in for either McArthur or Luka. Obviously Benteke will be back in too. Also, if Cahill's not fit then Dann should be next in line.
I wouldn't drop Clyne for Ward — yes, he had a bad game today but so did everyone to varying degrees. Putting today's result aside, I think we've generally looked better with him in the team. Those are enough changes in my opinion. Yes, we should shake things up a bit, but we shouldn't be rash and overreact. People in this thread who are proposing changing 90% of our starting 11 in a single stroke are crazy. |

Clyne. Tommo. Dann. Ward Townsend. Luka. Macca. Schlupp Wilf. Benteke Butland, PVA, Mitchell, Sakho, Kouyate, Jairo, MCCarthy, Eze, Batshuiyi Start with experience and solid defensively. Bring Eze and Batshuiyi for second half impact. |

Playing an injured Sakho, isn't going to help!

As much as I'd like to drop the lot of them, I remember that the game after the 9-0 we went down to Southampton and played decently getting a 1-1 draw and I don't think we made any changes before that game. They'll be humiliated themselves by that and it may be best to make as few changes as possible (Cahill will surely be out with his hamstring and Benteke will return) and let the players who caused this be the ones to fix it

We have been waiting for the eze, wilf and pva triangle for what seems an age. 40 shit minutes and you all drop pva for mitchell who cant block a cross, cant cross, has weaker passing and doesnt dribble
![]() Dont get me wrong he has improved loads but in the last 3 games pva has got accross to stop players getting behind our cb's about 6 times. Mitchell doesnt do that. He doesnt provide the overlap when Eze drives inside. He doesnt have the experience of linking up with wilf and he doesnt have the goal scoring! I hope mitchell will have a great future and genuinly think he might but you bunch of fickle deluded weirdos are such suckers for shit you read on the net! -------------------------------------Guaita---------------------------------- ward----------------Cahill----------------------Sakho-----------------PVA townsend-----------luka-----------------------Jimmy-----------------Eze ---------------------Benteke------------------Zaha------------------------ Our best 2 are sakho and cahill at cb. Sakho probably injured but kouyate was so bad i figure we might see a change. Is sakho fit? Is tomkins fit enough? Dann has looked seriously ropey recently. i Dont know. If they could stay fit thats our best pair but i doubt the fitness will happen anyway
