14-0 away to TSV Altenholz (6th level)

again VfB fielded two completely different IXs in each half. So far we haven't seen what is likely to be the first team. Another friendly on Sunday at an 8th level club followed up by a game against Hamburg Leagueers SV Lurup (to be played at Westerrade's ground on Wed).

First real test next Satruday at Lohmühle against 1. Bundesliga FC Hansa Rostock. Another test whiel at Schneverdingen training camp against polish side Amika Wronki and then on Friday July 23 Borussia Mönchengladbach (1. Bundesliga) sponsored by Jever Pils come to Lohmühle.

On another note, I see Chris Iwelmo has left Brighton to join Aachen. He must be turning into one of your favourite players Ruedi!

right, Dortmund fans on tour just recently.

But I have to admit that in the north of Lübeck there's living a guy going bonkers with his addiction to Schalke 04. His house's window looks like an Schalke outlet. He's running an official fan club, organising "home" and away travels and selling tickets and fan itelms. Very odd.

tell me - how exactly does german football work ?

bundeslige 1, bundesliga 2, and then regional leagues ? are these split into north and south or something more complex ?

i remember seeeing tennis borussia berlin (yes, silly name) against dynamo dresden a few years back...in some bizarre north-east league i think

1. Bundesliga (18)
2. Bundesliga (18)

run by The German Football League

professional clubs
---------------------------------------------

Regionalliga North
Regionalliga South
(in fact: 3. Bundesliga North and South but regarded as non-league "amateur" football under the controll of The German Football Association)
-----------------------------------------------

below are Amateur Premier Leagues
# North
# Westfalia
# Northrhine
# North-East (Section North) North-East Section South)
feeding Regionalliga North

Amateur Premier Leagues
# Hessen
# Southwest
# Bavaria
# Baden-Württemberg
feeding Regionalliga South
----------------------------------------------

btw. Tennis Borussia (once in in 1. Bundesliga) are now in lowly Amateur Premier North-East (Section North) while Dynamo Dresden (who've been in 1. Bundesliga as well for a few seasons) have climbled the ladder and are now in 2. Bundesliga.

in the mood for the Rostock game on saturday. Hope we can avoid the hooligan element from the Wild East. They were a disgrace last season (at Westerrade though)

Let us know how Vorbeck plays - if there's any truth in the rumours, we might see him at Palace.
