A few games this weekend, though nothing too exciting. Mayo v Roscommon being my pick of the fixtures.

Tyrone should win handy enough v Antrim on Tyrone Eagle's birthday too. Happy birthday, P.

Westmeath v Laois tomorrow for Pat.

That Roscommon ambush was tight enough. Mayo are the team to avoid in the qualifiers. It still feels odd watching GAA on sky.

The other results were one way traffic.

I've covered Roscommon a few times this year and not seen as much as a half-smile after goals and victories, then my colleague goes down for yesterdays game and captures some great suff and a great victory! Typical

Cheers SC.

Tyrone v Donegal will show where we are in the grand scheme of things. Going nicely so far though.

early days, is great its all started though, watched Donegal Fermanagh on the telebox, not too impressed with Donegal tbh .... if Connelly comes back for Dublin its hard to see who can beat them; the hurling is looking class again already this year

Watched the Waterford Limerick match at the weekend. Waterford were awful. Made Limerick look a lot better than I actually thought they were.

I then went and actually tried Hurling for myself for the first time ever, and didn't completely suck! Was only a puck around in Phoenix Park, but really enjoyed it.

Waterford took a trimming, they've fallen fast since their All Ireland appearance. Tipp are annoyingly coming on nicely. I listened to it on the radio.
The Ulster teams continue to knock bells out of each other, Armagh & Cavan must go again. And Tyrone v Donegal is another potentially great tussle on Saturday.

Still no Joe Canning & no Damien Comer. That will scuttle Galway's chances going far in both codes this year.

We were brutal yesterday.

Lethargic and got the match ups wrong. Probably prefer the run in the qualifiers though. We have a good record and it helps build up a head of steam prior to the quarters (if we get there).

Just hope for a relatively favourable draw!

Galway's second half performance in the football was shocking. I didn't see the hurlers yesterday but I'm gutted. It's going to be a short summer for Galway I'd say.

They were awful in the second half. So frustrating. Game overall wasn't amazing. Good celes at the end though. Enjoyed the two hour drive home soaking wet too

Strange second half performance from Galway. It took them ages to get a point. The fake ending with the fans in the pitch was funny though.

My boys, Limerick, came up real short in the hurling against Tipp. Always 4 to 5 behind after Tipp’s goal.
Tipp defended well and were tough when it mattered. We had big problems down our left side in the first half. We just couldn’t get our act together.
Oh well, onto the Munster final.

Galway need a fully fit Comer in full forward, a fully fit Conroy at centre forward & Daithí Burke to join the panel & play midfield. That would free Walsh up to not having to do everything. And for the defenders to stop coughing up cheap frees. Unfortunately I can't see any of that happening & am expecting an exit in the qualifiers.

Well played Donegal today.
Currently watching Dublin v Meath. Meath still in it despite kicking pretty much nothing but wides whilst the Jacks have missed a penalty & spurned 2 other goal chances.

Laois for the double!

Wasn't it, although Meath continued to kick wides. Dublin are just far too strong at the moment. The likes of MDMA & Rock on the bench is frightening.

Mayo v Armagh
&
Kildare v Tyrone
are potentially brilliant matches. Mayo v Armagh especially.

Also

Westmeath v Clare
Laois v Offaly

Waiting for the winners of these matches are losing provincial finalists Galway, Cork, Cavan & Meath.

I missed this before. It's a brilliant game. The satisfaction of plucking the ball into your paw & then striking a long distance puck into the sky is glorious.
I've never played golf but I imagine it's a similar sort of feeling.
I hope you keep at it. Now the evenings are fine I'm often down the park with my kids and the hurls.
