None of us know how bad the finances are at the club. If any player leaves at what we believe is less then his potential value then we have to accept it. The bottom line is that the club must survive.

If Wigan offered £2.5m cash then we would sadly snap their hands off

On HOL, Dazza who has provided literally 100% accurate transfer info this summer has stated that Palace will only invite offers of around £4 million for Victor so unless they offer that this transfer is a no go.

Victor is a goal-scorer and is wasted on the wing.
Play him in a central striking role and then you will see his true value and realize that the offers being bandied about by the media are way off of the mark.
His goals scored at Youth International level show what a great prospect he is and it was some achievement to win the Golden Boot Award at the Youth European Championship and score 3 goals at the Youth World Cup before he was forced out of the tournament by injury.

The way forward is not to sell our future stars as some fans would like us to do.
These players have shown commitment by signing Pro contracts with the club and the fans need to realize this and allow these youngsters to establish themselves in the team and not jump on their backs at every mistake that they may make on the pitch.
Victor was only able to play a bit-part role last season due to suffering niggling injuries and his pre-season was wrecked after he was injured on international duty playing for England Youth.
It is a credit to Crystal Palace that we have so many Youth internationals and because we are not a fashionable club in the media's eyes they feel that it is wrong that they play for us, as woe betide we are only a Championship club and not one of their blue-eyed boys in the Premiership !!!

The way forwards is to survive. If that means selling our youngsters, so be it. But I would only accept an offer of £2.5m if that was the difference between survival and death as its an outrageously tiny price for him. I would reluctantly do business at the £4m/£5m mark; I can't believe some people would take £2.5m in Jordan's shoes.

If that were he case, which is very unlikely, as it won't "drum up interest" if it isn't there any way, they would pick a bigger team than Wigan to start it about. This would send the message that he is (with all due respect to Wigan) "only" that level. The simplest explantion is that it is another invented press story by a lazy hack based on some vague rumour, or indeed on nothing at all.

Actually I think Typical Palace has it about right. Realistically, Moses will go to nothing better than a mid table Prem side when he does leave - the top sides must have surely lost interest having been unable to get their claws into him when he was very young. If, as appears to be the case, we'd do business at £4m, then starting a bidding war at £2.5m would seem to be about right. And its not so much about "drumming up" interest as it is about drawing out interest which is undoubtedly already there. If other clubs who fancy Moses think they might lose out to Wigan then they might start looking at whether a deal is possible.

I hate to think of Palace as a selling club, but the truth is we could actually do without Moses next season and if, with the defence and midfield in reasonable shape already, we got some of that money to spend on the squad then we might be looking at a reasonable side.

What has he achieved that makes him worth over £2.5 mil?

He's shown flashes of brilliance, along with flashes of 'not interested'. He's had as many bad gamnes as he has had good and certainly hasnt scored many goals at senior level. With questions about his attitude as well i dont see why he would be worth a huge amount more as things stand

Totally agree...if only he'd shown 50% of the attitude of young Clyne then we really would have a saleable commodity....as its stands £2.5m sounds about right...I'd take it.

To me there is no indication that Palace need to get money in that badly. There is a huge difference between not spending and needing to bring money in. Whilst we have not spent a lot - only the fee for Sears (although that may not be that different to what we bought Lee for) we have taken on two additional salaries and are apparently looking to take on more, all things we could save if need be. We won't get a better player than Moses, so why bring in inferior ones and sell better ones to pay for them? If we were selling Moses to survive we would not be signing as well - we'd surely be pocketing all the savings we possibly can first before off-loading. It makes no sense otherwise. There is a valid expression that the simplest explanation is usually the right one - and it is often true. Forget some complex plot by club or agent, the simplest reason, and most often correct in such cases, is rubbish and lazy journalism.

Moses has had a series of injuries and has been played totally out of position and still someone wants to start the bidding at 2.5million. Maybe they see something you can't. Like a unique natural talent.
If we sell for that price it will be because we have no choice. I hope that is not the case.

I wouldnt call it "totally out of position" for a forward to play as a wide forward. Class players will adapt.

Having said that, I wouldnt take £2.5m for him and would rather see him do the business for us in the short-medium term

I like the pointless comment about Whelan wanting an English core to the dressing room. So why then aim for a youngster born in Nigeria?

Won't happen, at least not at £2.5 million. That is far below the going rate for top CCC youngsters, and we all know they just got Valencia money.
