Which is precisely why he's playing for a side who finished 17th in the Championship.

Let's face it. Darren Ambrose is a class player but the only reason he is with us is because he is an injury nightmare.

He is a risky signing for anyone.

If we could get a decent Championship striker in return, it might be worth it.

We need a goal scorer badly.

Our goal tally for the last couple of seasons has been a joke.

Not really, no.

Clyne is the only one I would see regularly commanding a starting place in a smattering of Premier League sides.

Jules good enough for 66 per cent of Premiership teams? Probably not, but better than Ambrose.

Clyne is completely dfferent as he has youth and potential on his side.

Eh? I was responding to a post which suggested ambrose wasn't good enough for the PL because of where we finished.

I do not though agree that Ambrose is good enough for 66% of PL clubs. 4 or 5 teams, tops (and even then as a squad player).

He might have passed a medical but obviously had a number of injury problems at Charlton. As I understand it.

Seriously just shut the f*ck up. He came to us because he was part of a team that just got relegated to League One, his career was going down the toilet and was inconsistent for a long time at Charlton. He's played his best football for us, that's why he is here, we signed him on a free and turned his career around.
