You wouldn't say no would you? I mean if we set up the same style of play next season he'd make the starting 11 ahead of both Ince and Yannick, wouldn't he?

Do you really, genuinely "not get the obsession"?

He symbolised the phoenix from the ashes that this club has been over the last 4 years. I can understand not wanting him back for various reasons, but to not understand the hero status that he has with the fans of this football club is just staggering.

heart and head say yes. he's an educated gamble, we know exactly what we're getting for our money. for £5 million you won't get a better gamble at this level. we can't lose money on signing him even if it doesn't work out because we're basically giving Man Utd what they paid for him back. he has an affinity for the club and would be home, and comfortable.

look at Puncheon as an example of what being at home can do for a players confidence/ability.

Problem is will he come back with an ego... And he will have huge expectation and pressure on him if he comes back from the fans. I think he's a risk and I don't think pulis will go for him. I just wish he never left!

Based on Yannicks performances this year many Wingers would be understudy to Yannick at any club outside the top 8. Wilf included.

Yannick is great to watch mainly because you never know what he is going to do next, mind you I get the feeling he doesn't know either! That fact you can never second guess him makes his play pretty effective and entertaining.

If he don't know what he is doing how can the full back he is up against.
That's my way of looking at it.

I have watched Wilf this year and the Full backs in the PL seem to deal with him so easily.

I think he'll come back. We are a natural fit and Pulis would be great for him. He'd regain his confidence and form. BTW he's looked OK for the welsh lot recently.

Watched the game yesterday. Agree he showed glimpses of real talent, but all too often he went into blind alleys, which inevitably led to him falling over claiming a foul. Did not see much tracking back when not on the ball. However, the overwhelming feeling I got was that Cardiff were not playing to a system (so different from when Malky Mackay was there) and maybe Wilf needs strong coaching and to know his place in a team. This was evident last year of course, because Zaha's form dived post Freedman right up until the play offs, when Holloway at last worked on a plan that played to our sterngths. For that reason, I rather hope he returns on the right terms, as he could thrive under Pullis

The key here is Pulis. Look what he's done to improve Yannick and Puncheon. Can you imagine what he'd do with Wilf?

I've watched him closely since his loan move and I don't agree with those that say he has underperformed at Cardiff. In fact, I'd say he has been their most dangerous player. The problem is he's playing in a poor side with no effective direction. Trust me, Puncheon and Bolasie would've struggled in that side too.

I think we know Pulis is interested in bringing Wilf back as it's common knowledge we tried to back in January. Whether Tony thinks he's still the answer now we've moved on is another thing. The fact that the general consensus that he hasn't cut it at this level will surely mean we'll have few if any competitors at bringing him back at a good price too I reckon. The facts from what ive seen is he can more than cut it, just needs proper direction.

Any quotes ? I remember us being interested but unsure if it was SP making the noises and not TP.

I'd agree with you, and if its a position where players can have great games or shockers, depending on whether the full back gets the upper hand, or the other way round. Having a squad with bolasie, puncheon, zaha and ince in it would give tp great options in matches. All 4 are capable of winning a match with what they can do for themselves or the side. Both would be awesome additions imho.

I was being sentimental... However I agree I don't think we should get him back, have a feeling it wouldn't work.
