I will make no decision until the end of season, simply because there are far too many factors that could change my decision:

1. His performances
2. Whether we stay in this division or not
3. Who the manager is in the summer
4. Whether we still have Bolasie and Puncheon available playing the way they are at the moment
5. Whether Zaha wants to stay
6. How much the price tag is
7. How much his wages are.

Missed almost a whole season last year and his confidence was shot to bits.

The way we are using him is the way I would. 15 or 20 minutes here and there against tiring full-backs and the odd start against 'suitable' opposition.

Wilf is starting from scratch again and with any luck he realises this and bides his time.

Anyone who saw his delight from the bench when Jedinak scored the third against Liverpool will see the passion he has for Palace.

He'll get his chance and the rest is up to him. I wouldn't look further than that, at the moment.

It's a shame for him that the man utd game came along when it did. Other wise he might have had a few games. That's all he needs, there's enough there to see that.

Problem he has is that we lack anyone bar Puncheon in our first team starters who can put in decent crosses.

It's noticeable that we have been testing Ward out to see what his deliveries are like. Not sure I'd be too happy with him taking corners from the opposite side though.

Its a problem cause I think based on form he'd be starting ahead of Punch at the moment.

Bolasie will be gone for January to the AFCON (Jedi will also be away in Jan at some other international event thing)

Not comparable to Punch more Yala, not keen on Yala and Wilf playing together, hence gametime in Jan and a chance to prove he has what it takes in the Prem. On current form /playing time we would be the only club to bid a lot for him as he has a sentimental value to the club but 8 mil atm ?? Cmon.

He has a window coming up and a chance to shine and set the Prem alight and he must take his chance or it could be back to the Championship where he was special at that level. Whether thats with us (should the unthinkable happen) or another relegated Prem team who knows.

Atm I think he is in his comfort zone, yet to push on from his good Championship form and England cap (and for that he needs more gametime). So take your chance and shine Wilf, would much prefer to then be in an auction of many for his signature than the only person at the auction.

He needs a run of games before we can judge where he is at. Glimpses so far.

Part of this is down to him not having game time, but is that down to the current crop of players being better?

Having seen him play a few times this season, he looks a shadow of his former self - albeit he is playing against better opponents.

So my question is, given the current team we have, and how Zaha has performed when he does play - is it likely that the board will shell out for him to make the move permanent come end of the season?
It's a good question. But take away your memories of when he was one of the world's hottest prospects and look objectively at this season (beyond last game when Bolasie was immense). In terms of consistency Wilf has been our best winger. Punch has been ineffective so far and our worst performing winger but he takes a dozen or so games to warm up and he was awesome last season from about December. We have a very talented squad, but Wilf will definitely improve it. Relax, 12 games gone. Still time for us to mount a tilt for a Europa League spot. Hardest game of season remaining will be home to Villa cos they will sit back. Fingers crossed we get the breaks. We have a great chance of finishing top half, no jokes. It's not fluky the way we've put 6 past Liverpool in the last 2 encounters and we will do it to better sides than them if Wilf hits top form. there's nothing to moan about now, except Wilf not getting more game time but it'll come.

I am shocked that so many people are happy or have accepted tat the board should decide what money gets spent on which players.

Why? Too adventurous and exciting for your conservative brain to deal with? we've got the most exciting pair of wingers in the league. I'd like them to play, especially as they are harder working than your average Premiership winger. (Punch is hard working too but he doesn't have the flair.)

Other than being biased dont know how anyone can come to that conclusion. Plus how you know Wilf wont be as "ineffective so far" like Punch eludes me.

Punch has some fantastic goals in him though!

Not to mention our best player vs Sunderland. I do actually quite like Warnock's handling of him though. Want to see him hungry for us. Man Utd experience has definitely turned his head. A permanent move may be best all round. Then he knows his cun ty days are over and will have to work hard, and we know we've had the last laugh against the wankers. Can't wait for Wilf to play against them again. He'll rip them into multiple little pieces, like hulk hogan tearing a sheet of tissue paper

Btw I want to know what that adder journalist thinks of Wilf. Could be entertaining. I'm willing to go on FYP to have a Wilf off if he's not a fan.

But Punch has decent prem experience up against quality experienced defenders. I am not saying Wilf cant do it "in the prem" But I think it is far from odds on that he will take the prem by storm when those that decide, chose to play him. Also not convinced Wilf is able to do the defencive duties Punch does and thus be a luxury we cant afford in this cut throat Prem.

Because he has more talent in his left foot than Punch. Not saying he will realise it, but my house would be on it. Even if it takes him another few years before his attitude changes. He needs support and love to come good again.
