Charlton sometimes issue up to 4,000 complimentary tickets of which only a quarter get used but the 4,000 is added to the gate.

They've had very, very cheap season tickets for a few years - literally giving them away for next to nothing.

I can't wait for the day Selhurst gets redeveloped to a 40k stadium and slowly kills off Charlton, turning them into a Barnet or Orient.

oh yes please . With Brighton or even Millwall I want to actually play them in the future but Charlton aren't that interesting and if they ****ed off to League 2 forever I won't miss them

2-0 up against the team bottom of the league, who haven't been payed for over a month.
One of them said , his biggest nightmare was not only them going down and millwall coming up, but worst of all palace being in Europe.

West Ham getting the olympic stadium just a few hundred yards north of the river, that will hurt Charlton's fanbase.

Palace are sufficiently centred in the middle of the Universe that our fanbase will be fine.

I can't stand Charlton, but am reluctant to take the piss of anyone. We've been there and probably will again. Makes you see Steve's point about investment and building a legacy though.

I'd advise caution.

Wasn't all that long ago that they were pushing for a top four place, selling out their 27k ground, whilst around the same time we languished in tier 2 with miserable attendances similar to what they're experiencing now.

Things can and do change very, very quickly.

In the case for the prosecution I can present the abuse in 2005, the wheels on the bus song about Nixon (and teh constant Cantona references even now) and the "we'll never play you again" when we were about to go bust. When it comes to tasteless gloating and pointless hate they can trump Millwall and Brighton put together.

However I can't really take much pleasure in a club being so badly run and I'm sure there are many decent Clowns out there who entertain children with balloon animals and don't make too much noise in their caravan.
