I think this view is coloured by wishful thinking from the UK media and a bit of a misreading of reality. The European Union is not really comparable to the Iron Curtain- really it isn't. It feels like the Brexit equivalent of those supposedly wishing for a messy depression in the ex-EU UK.

Certainly a large number want out of the Euro but I'm not aware of any widespread desire to leave the EU.

If every decision deal has to be put to parliament and exposed to the media /public it will weaken the Governments bargaining hand.

It is amusing to see the vocal socialists/anti establishment/anarchist people on social media screaming with joy at a decision made by a few unelected fauntleroys in a closed room. Approving of the system when it agrees with you makes you a massive hypocrite hth.
Glad we can bring you some happiness!

There's a simple and non hypocritical reason why lefties would appreciate this ruling. We prefer bourgeois liberal democracy, for all its faults, to rule by fiat by unelected leaders, we prefer the 19th century to the 11th.

Let's assume this to be true.

What are the top 5 items we have to bargain with in your opinion?

Yes, yes, yes. The point remains you have your sovereignty.

Remind us all where the words "Hard Brexit" were on our voting papers.

If you cannot do this, your statement is worthless.

That doesn't at all address the question I put to you regarding your statement about the EU trying to shaft us when we are leaving the EU and the benefits of EU membership.

Well I guess we always knew the establishment would do their best to block it. 8/3 not unanimous so its a matter of opinion. The SNP are already announcing delaying tactics asking for a white paper etc. Libs demanding a second referendum.
As long as May sticks to her guns and I've little doubt it will go through.

Everybody voted for a hard Brexit, it was all that was offered.

Brilliant how the ranting Leavers who constantly point out how they understand everything can't get their head around how parliamentary sovereignty works.

Now you know most of the leave campaign was based on total bollocks and has no strategy behind it, would you still vote for Brexit and why?

I have little doubt that it will go through too, but that will have nothing to do with Theresa May sticking to her guns, or rather pea shooters.
