If there's one thing that Levy understands it's the value of a pound note and you can rest assured that the debt will be structured and managed to within an inch of its life.

I seem to recall it took the Gooners seven years (ish) to clear their debt on the Emirates; it would be very interesting to know Spurs' financial projections on the new White Hart Lane.

According to Arsenal Supporter's Trust there is still long term stadium related debt of £144m payable by 2031.

Overall debt is more than double that.

Arsenal's strategy was to pay down the debt as quickly as possible at the expense of team rebuilding. Arsene also said that a move to the new stadium and the increased income would pay off in the long term and give them at an advantage over other teams. Unfortunately new richer owners arrived on the scene and it was spend, spend, spend.

Should've stuck with Pochettino. He'd at least have a bit of CL money to play with.

Yes, I'm aware of this. I had assumed that they intended to clear the debt entirely.

I think I read somewhere that moving to the Emirates enabled Arsenal to take £2m per matchday over & above ticket sales. I’m sure that Steve Parish referenced that when highlighting the competitive advantage it gave Arsenal.

The loss of crowds for over a year due to Covid and failing to qualify for the Champions League would have made a big dent in their income.

They won’t be the only club who has increased their debt in 2020/21 by taking on additional borrowings.

Self inflicted though.

Wow. I think Conte has finally realized how messed up Spurs are … it almost sounds like he regrets taking the job. Watching this makes me (almost) feel bad for Nuno.

He did sound shocked at the scale of the job. They are 700m in debt, and it sounds like some of the players don’t want to work.

Much as I like him as a coach, I am happy to see them struggle.

I have the feeling that Levy is the ultimate problem at Spurs. Every time a manager complains about the players what he ultimately is doing is complaining about Levy’s decisions. So when a manger tells him that such and such player is crap, sell him, Levy takes it personally. “The player is good, we paid a fortune for him,” he says, “get him to perform.” When the player fails or refuses to perform, cause he sucks or knows no other club will pay him what Spurs pay him, Levy blames the manager. He did it with Ponchetino driving him out, Mourinho, and Nuno.

The real question in the video is will Levy admit his expensive signings were mistakes, that he the great Levy made mistakes. Or does he just drive another manger out and find some other putz to take the job and fire them when none of the players want to play. The one player that did put out effort was Kane and now he’s not even bothering.

If Conte leaves there ****ed.

Of course Levy is the problem, it's so obvious.

Totally wasted the Bale money, got rid of Pochettino rather than grant his fairly modest wishes, brought in the even more expensive Mourinho and paid him off, arguably unfairly sacked NES and then got the super expensive Conte who will have all the same problems that went before. Levy is a total car crash.
