You don't see the parallels, or do you just welcome them? Gauleiter Hazmat?

Cool story.

The Scottish Court decided they had jurisdiction and so examined the arguments put forward and decided Johnson was a very naughty boy.

Whether the UK Supreme Court decides they have jurisdiction or not, doesnt change the fact that the PM lied to the Queen about shutting Parliament to avoid its scrutiny. Not sure how anyone can be ok with that?

Sorry, what was the question?

I thought it was whether the prorogation is legal or illegal.

The English Court says it is legal and the Scottish Court disagrees, leaving the Supreme Court to decide.

The Supreme Court will rule on whether it was illegal under both English & Scottish law. It could easily uphold both judgements.

Unluckily for you, that will mean Parliament ain't prorogued, and may mean Boris will need to consider his position.

This is a nonsense as you cannot hold an institution responsible to more than one jurisdiction. The highest court will rule one way or the other.

I'm no lawyer, but I think this is right:

The English decision: no grounds to overturn prorogation in English law.

The Scots decision: Prorogation disallowed.

The Supreme Court will look at whether it agrees with both decisions under the separate laws.

If it upholds both, the prorogation is null & void.

The English court has not declared it legal. You are purposefully misrepresenting what they said.

They said that it was a political decision and that the judiciary has no business ruling on political decisions therefore it is not illegal.

They have not declared it legal, which is what you said.

Lie to yourself if you like and it makes you feel better, but you shouldn't lie to others.
