Pity you didn't do the same instead of screwing your creditors not once but on two occasions , you hopeless sad *****.

In other words you acknowledge that had we had the chance to play you then you'd have received a ton of losses and thrashings, and the balance of games would look very different.

Were any of the amazing true Brighton loyalist Bloom family on the board at the time?

We are ahead of them in the 50 year attendance league, as well. Which is another of their favourite comparisons.

Yeah, but who has more square footage of concourse? That's what matters.

I'm working rather a long notice period from work, with very little work to complete, so have a bit of time on my hands for looking at pointless "stuff".

Next season, Palace "lose" a 20th place finish from the 50 year period, and the worst position would be 20th, therefore the average cannot get any worse than the current 26.4, but can improve as far as 26.0 (if we finished first).

We will move above Coventry regardless - their best finish is top of L3 in 45th place, which drops their average to 26.6, and could also move ahead of Blackburn (26.1 - 26.6) and Stoke (25.9 - 26.4). Also, Wolves cannot catch us regardless (26.6 their best outcome), so at worst we'll be 24th, and best 22nd.

Brighton lose a 49th place finish from 1969/70, so are guaranteed to improve their average for at least the next two seasons. The best they would get to, by winning the league, would be 43.4, with the worst (bottom) improving the average to 43.8 - up from their 44.4 current average. However, Bristol City are some way ahead of them currently (41.5) and therefore unlikely to make up the gap in the next few years.

Another "interesting" point to note - the only teams in the top 8 which could change position are Arsenal and Man Utd in second and third.

Palace 340 odd games in the Premier League
Brighton 76 games in the Premier League

Lucky that that there is not a comparative table based on how many games teams have played as a Premier League club as Brighton would be near the bottom of teams that have played there with just 2 seasons to date in their history.

MIND THE GAP

The only price that Brighton paid was having a team that bottles big games and that have been considerably worse than Palace for years and years and that will continue for years and years.

MIND THE GAP AS YOU ARE NOT GOING TO CLOSE IT ANYTIME SOON.

At least Brighton have appointed a manager with Championship experience as most of their players are not good enough to compete in the Premier League and they are rightly one of the favourites for the drop as they have been playing like a relegation side for months and that is not going to change overnight.

Next season could be fun if the last 6 months are anything to go by.
