Gillingham boss wary of Bromley

Boss Ronnie Jepson knows Gillingham cannot expect an easy ride when they face Ryman Premier Division side Bromley in the FA Cup first round.
Jepson told BBC Radio Kent: "You can't dismiss teams like Bromley because they have some good players.

"There are guys in their team who could easily be playing in the Football League. So it will be a tough task but one that we will be well prepared for.

"But we're pleased to have a home draw and that's all we could hope for."

Sadly Bromley are not on TV for the Gills match, from the FA website-

The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON
First Round Proper
Saturday 11 November 2006
Winning clubs will receive 16,000
TV fee per club - 75,000

Live FA Cup action returns to our screens on Sunday 12 November for the first of two First Round proper ties.

The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON kicked off more than two months ago and we've now reached the stage where Football League clubs enter the fray.

Bury currently lie 15th in League Two and face a trip to Weymouth to take on the Terras, third in the Conference National, live on the BBC at 2.15pm.

On the Monday night it's a League Two top versus bottom clash as Macclesfield try to put their league woes behind them. They currently sit seven points adrift at the foot of the table and welcome high-flying Walsall, joint top of the division, to Moss Rose.

That match is live on Sky Sports at 8pm.

In addition to their TV appearances, each of the four club's featured will collect 75,000 from The FA's broadcast payments with the winners of all 40 First Round ties pocketing 16,000.

First Round Proper
Live Televised Ties

2.15pm, Sunday 12 November 2006
Weymouth v Bury
Live on BBC

8.00pm, Monday 13 November 2006
Macclesfield Town v Walsall
Live on Sky Live

MACCLESFIELD vs WALLSALL???? Bloody hell.

Only chosen because Paul Ince has just gone into management of course.

The obvious two for me were the Gillingham/Goldberk match, plus Tranmere vs Woking.

VOTE FOR LLOYD!

On Saturday Bromley striker Lloyd Blackman scored both goals, not bad for someone who was doubtful through injury. The FA have nominated him as one of their players of the round and should he win he gets to donate 500 quids worth of sports equipment to a local school, lots of publicity for the club and a trip to the Cup final

The poll is To view the link you have to Register or Login at the bottom on the right hand side. Please lend your support to a local club - and me a fellow BBS'er.

At the moment the results stand at
Blackman - Bromley 35.13%
Booth - Lewes 2.7%
Smith - Worthing 40.54%
Baptiste - Havvant - 8.10%
Turley - Oxford 13.51%

Cheers

I'm sure all Bromley's tickets will go. I have kept my stub from Grays, just in case. I think you will find many Bromley people in the Gillingham seats.

Takes 5 seconds folks, i'm sure the BBS would like to see some further publicity for local footbal and the ground where our reserves play, aswell as money going into school sports. It's a tough ask to out vote the Oxford fans, but I don't doubt it's possible.

Cheers, to be honest it's been easy this year as there's such a lot of positive stuff happening down the Lane. It's made a welcome break from this year at Selhurst.

Hopefully I've influenced a few to take a trip down to their local non league team, whether it's Bromley or not, cos non league and grass roots football is a good afternoon out. When you get hooked like me you find yourself at Margate away on a wet tuesday, or spending 60 quid out on a day watching Lowestoft vs Bromley in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying round (via the compleat angler pub at Norwich station!)

Can't make game now and am gutted as i've followed bromley as well as palace for over 20 odd years(palace longer), so just wanna say to the fellow eagles following the bromley on the day enjoy the day out and lets be the biggest represented of the 3 sth london clubs . Bromley should be allocated the whole of the stand rather than the normal 800/900 seats as its an fa cup tie. TN 16 , that quote of the day from the trophy game is that dan who travels down from leeds ?
