What phone should I get?

I rarely text or call. I use whatsapp & other apps a lot, but I rarely go over 1gb of internet. I have a galaxy S6 at the moment which I like but is maybe very slightly too big. I certainly wouldn't want one any bigger.

Any recommendations?

TIA

If you don't want to spend much money one of the cheaper Motorola's would be a good bet.

Smashed the screen of my OP3T. Bastards. Even has a nice case. I've had a good track record with phones, and just knew this would be the one.

90 to replace the screen could be a lot worse. Apparently its a ballache to do it yourself.

If you go onto somewhere like ifixit and they say it is a ball ache, then it really really is a ball ache.

I once did this. It took nearly three times as long as suggested and nearly ended in divorce

Pay they money rather than take on something ifixit classify as difficult.

Most self repairs are actually quite easy. The biggest issue with them is the glue that some manufacturers use. I completely destroyed the old iPhone battery that I took out of an iPhone 6, there was a stupid amount of sticky tape which was extremely strong holding that thing in, even the tiny bit of residue that was left over was enough to hold the new battery in place.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S8+ just after Christmas from eBay and after arou d a months usage I have to say I think it's fantastic. My old phone was an S5 and in my opinion is a big step up in terms of speed. This thing is lightning compared to that. Battery life is pretty good too on the S8+ so I really can't complain. Very user friendly out of the box.

I have to say I really like the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. Set it up to register 2 fingerprints and it's so much easier to unlock than the S5 with my hands being in a natural position holding the back of the phone.

Camera is fantastic. Love the stabilising in video mode. Makes everything very smooth.

I have an S4 (ancient I know, but it's unmarked), it won't connect to the Internet and has lost Bluetooth capability.

The S4 has a pull down menu for the settings and you just tap the wifi and Bluetooth icons to activate these. They turn a slight green colour for a few seconds (normally they turn bright green when activated) then just go back to grey!
This has been like this for about a week now, I have tried all the obvious solutions such as switching off, hard reset, battery out etc. sometimes it will activate if I switch off/on but only lasts for an hour max.
Virgin sent me a new sim to see if that would solve it but it hasn't. I have mobile data so I can access the Internet and emails etc. Samsung have told me to perform a factory reset and go from there. This is my last resort as I hope someone out in BBS land has a solution to my android problem.

I'd dodge the original Samsung batteries, I've found the ones Anker make are the best ones.

Pay attention to the delivery dates. The really cheap ones tend to have around 3-4 weeks for delivery as they're being imported in from China. Other items available for immediately delivery will be in this country. Not that it helps finding out which ones are dodgy but much easier to deal with a company that stocks in this country rather than shipping from China.

Anker are a great company, esp. for external battery chargers.

Good no-nonsense replacement policy - when I had one my daughter had pushed the socket into the body I sent them a picture and, as it was in warranty, they just sent out another one.
