Another reason Skysports are wankers....

Good to see their commitment to Championship football runs as deep as putting the final day of the season on SS2 while Liverpool play Chelsea on SS1.

It shouldn't surprise me but it does.

Any more reasons, the floor is yours

Yesterday they said they was gonna bring us up to speed with the Newcastle (heard of them? Don't get much coverage these days) team travel arrangements and which method they were considering taking, as they were due to fly to Plymouth. I shit you not.

I switched over.

And cycling, only because they've created a superteam in that sport - Team Sky - so give them a hell of a load of coverage when no-one really gives two hoots about it.

Baseball is on ESPNAmerica.

American Football coverage is on late night on C5 and will be on ESPNAmerica instead in 2010.

Not that it has anything to do with you, but 83000 sold out Wembley in 10 minutes for American Football. Something that has 6 hours coverage a week for 17 weeks.

What difference does it make. I've never seen it as 1=highest priority. It'll all be on, and presumably all in HD.

I bloody care, but hate the prospect that coverage may be taken from the 'free to air' channels. And they'll destroy the prospect of cycling becoming popular just as sure as they destroyed boxing.

I've never understood why Man U have their own channel when they have Sky Sports News w*nking all over them all of the time. I remember Palace got a mention, ooh a few weeks back now, but that was a mistake, obviously.

I have to say that their football coverage on Sky is top drawer, but they are as greedy as **** and have done so much damage to grass roots it is unbelievable.

An alternative view -

Sky has revolutionised the way we watch sport on TV. The terrestrial channels simply paid lip service to sport, showing the bare minimum (mainly highlights) with poor analysis; just one or two camera angles; and fairly pedestrian commentary.

Look at cricket for example. Much as I would love to see cricket available freely to all, who can doubt the commitment Sky has given to the game? The innovative (and complete) coverage of Cricket - both International and Domestic, home and away, is superb. Not to mention the millions that Sky has invested in the Sport, keeping our County Club alive, not to say thriving.

Several years ago, the only live football game you could see on TV (apart from the odd International) was the FA Cup Final. These days you have a choice of games on most days, thanks to Sky.

Of course it could be improved, and I accept the criticism that coverage focuses on the most popular teams (at the expense of well supported 'lesser' Clubs like Palace) - but these days we do at least get to see the goals from our games within a few hours of the games ending as well as two or three televised 'live' games. In any event, those of us who are really passionate about Palace go to the games anyway.

I gladly pay for the full Sky package (as well as the multi-room and HD options) and am broadly very happy with the value for money.

Sorry.
