Eddie Presland made 5 appearences. Jack Bannister 11+2 subs . I know.it was a slip on the key board Percy but to put it right Terry Long played 2 games and not 2 goals.

Think Kember was Mark Butcher’s cricket tutor for a time, maybe at Whitgift?

![]() I remember playing cricket at school against Mark Butcher's dad, Alan, when he was playing for Heath Clark. I would have had him first ball as well if some butter-fingered tw@t hadn't dropped a dolly in the gully. Such is life. |

Cumnor House school. Big influence on Mark's choice of football team to support.

End of season tours, often to sunny climes were common back then. The season finished much earlier than today. A reward to the players after a hard season.

The following season was due to end even earlier at the beginning of April to give us time to prepare for the World Cup (destined to be the best ever imho) in Brazil. We were to play 7 games between the 9th and 30th of August, but that is probably another thread (which I may start soon....)

Have a feeling we will be at home to the Wankers in our first game and get a draw.
