Cheers, finding footage of the goal would be something. Especially as there probably isn't any.

Not sure if these are going to be readable. I took photos of the cuttings in my scrapbook rather than trying to scan them. The 50 year old Sellotape is a bit fragile and discoloured, but here goes anyway.
First off the Blackpool abandoned game talked of in this thread: ![]() |

I see the goalkeeper is wearing track suit bottoms though... poof!
I also believe the White mentioned in the report was Tommy White who had moved to Blackpool from Palace in March of the previous season. |

I remember they showed the game on The Big Match the next day - they had no choice. It was all they had to fill the programme.

Pretty sure the Blackpool player in the front there is the aforementioned Tommy White.

And then years later along came a Tommy Black!

50 years ago tonight Derby 0 Palace 1 (Woodruff) crowd over 30000
Palace were playing good stuff and were well and truly on a roll. Ahead another huge game v Birmingham on the following Saturday. It was hard to take a breath as the games were coming thick and fast. Rightly Bert was taking it one game at a time, but there was a massive game at home to Millwall on the horizon, at that time the biggest game between us and our local rivals (Brighton pah !) the talk in the pubs of Sarf London was all about the Millwall game as it came closer, just two weeks away.

People, you are reminding me big-time why I failed my 'O' Levels that year and had to re-sit them with the class below. Seriously, I could concentrate on nothing else than this push for Div. 1. It was a nasty shock when I got the slip of paper through the letterbox that August.
