I don't hold past grudges against him. He gave us some good times but it went wrong for him financially. We've ended up in the Premier League for a seventh season.

I think we need to look at why it went wrong. In my opinion, two things made the end scenario inevitable. He had a knack of alienating people, and was unable or unwilling to attract other investors to share whatever his vision was. It was always going to be a big ask for anyone with relatively moderate financial means to carry the load. He didn't seem to recognise this.

He is certainly most listenable than Clinton Morrison, who is very boring, just agreeing with anyone, not to upset them.

Very unfair on Clint IMO. He is getting better and better on TV, and just remember how long it took Wrighty to be a very good speaker.
Clint is 100% Palace, and SJ is a tosser, so not really a contest

Ian Wright is not a good speaker and is not insightful at all. How he gets the inordinate amount of media work that he does is beyond me.

Itís all subjective though per person. I donít mind Wright, personally and he brings a bit of light heartedness to programmes with his upbeat personality. Maybe thatís why heís picked. Give me someone like him rather than a monotone bore like Hansen any day.

Wright is not only a thicko, but he also speaks like one.

I love listening to Clint because he is funny, and often quite partisan towards his old clubs. He does seem to be a little bit of a yes man I suppose, but I'll let that slide.

And yes - Zaha absolutely came out of SJ's Palace academy.

The Theresa May of Football Chairmen. Didn't have the nous nor ability to run the club efficiently. Goldberg was worse tbf. Both love the Palace but deffo cases of hearts ruling heads.

It was funny when he was the Sky TV pundit for the Weed/B'Mouth 0-5 game. You could tell by his smirking, he was clearly enjoying the Weeds misfortune !

Dominic used to like throwing his weight around and was just a rather unpleasant individual. I always found SJ approachable on the few occasions I met him.

If you were called Dominic and hanging onto your big brothers shirt tails, it is understandable you would have an inferiority complex and become a nasty bully.

Unconvinced Goldberg ever 'loved Palace' tbh. Presumed that he just loved the limelight, and 20 pound notes, whether they be folded in his wallet or rolled up.

I'm not sure loved is the right word, but Goldberg was in the away end at the Sheffield Wednesday game.... but, it maybe because his son(s) were Palace supporters. Only he knows.

To be honest, I've never been convinced SJ was much of a Palace fan either. We all know his dad is/was, but SJ has never really said much about going to games himself as a kid, or reminisce about Palace heroes growing up.

Goldberg tried, but got it all wrong from what I remember. So maybe you're right.

Saw him in the AW plenty of times after he left the club, pretty clear he was a genuine Palace fan
