Lengthening the pitch to international dimensions

Adding lots of disabled spaces in the Whitehorse End

Greater community use of the new stand facilities on non matchdays

Additional corner of seating between the Arthur Wait and Holmesdale

Changing most of the floodlight positions

Increased street cleaning on matchdays

Removing the Arthur Wait tv gantry

Enlarged Fan Plaza in the club car park

Club would take over the Sainsburys car park for longer on matchdays

Fan Zone within the Holmesdale Stand area

Better wayfinding signage outside the stadium

Increased allocation for away fans due to uplift in stadium capacity

Club Statue as a focal point outside the stand

Reason being - and against the majority probably - from an architectural and British sports stand/stadium point of view, the proposed new stand makes the whole look ridiculous. That is, it’s not a British or German style stand but more a (eventually I assume, hence my question) wrap around stand and eventually stadium. In the mock ups the whole looks totally ludicrous: an American, rounded, standard, part-stadium. With three sheds next to it.

Was very disappointed it wasn’t desired as a stand-alone er stand. So higher and steeep and square but maybe a CP twist with glass or whatever. Not a quarter US stadium plan.

The mock up reminder me partially of weird developments in China eg the mega tower block skirting around a little house or a half built hotel next to a shanty town etc

Ps yes, what is planned is better than what is here now. But it’s going to last for a long while so we need to make sure what we are doing is not a total disaster (Brexit allegory alert)
I wouldn’t say the holmesdale is a shed .

What more do you want? How else can you get planning permission... by being in Nottingham, not within a densely populated area?
For example, if my memory serves, Liverpool started buying up all the houses near the ground some time ago.

Let me see if I can find the details.

Noades bought a couple of houses on Park Road. I distinctly remember one of them being advertised for rent in the club programme!

Liverpool have been been a top 6 club for decades, we havent been in the position to buy up houses in view to build a stand until now. Also I imagine the price difference of the homes are larger down South.

Rather than do it the Liverpool way, which was to buy one, then board it up, thus over time devaluing the rest of the houses in the street, just do it quietly, and put private tenants in them. When you've got most of the road, replace the tenants with academy kids, the Council would be less strict on rehousing them compared to the tenants in Wooderson Close

But in fairness a row of terraced houses around Stanley Park would only cost you a tenner.

The club should create the Selhurst Park Housing Association and have a policy of buying houses in Park Road and only leasing them to dysfunctional families.

The terms of the lease should be that they can hold as many parties as they like and there are no restrictions on the number of cars they can park in the road. Gradually buy all the houses in Park Road behind the Arthur Wait when the neighbours can't wait to sell up and move out

I appreciate that, but my point was , that now is the time to buy the houses.Especially as it would be an investment rather than throwing money away, so that if and when the time comes,we will have very little opposition to a stand whose roof could well be ten metres higher than present.

Forest do have some right to light issues with properties in nearby streets

It's the reason the away end stand drops in height so strangely halfway along.

Anfield also hadn't significantly changed in capacity since the conversion of all seating in 94 so the club knew they had the potential to exploit an increased capacity. I'm guessing the plan with SP is to get the new stand built and see what attendances are like for at least a season or two before other long term planning for say extending the AW such as buying up houses.

Honestly looks wise I don't see too much issue, on the inside the new stand looks reasonably similar to those either side of it and the nature of SP means you don't really view the ground as a whole on the outside, its only really aerial views that look a bit strange to me.
