Good god you have got your work cut out this summer. Investors supposedly want out. You’ve got a manager and all of his coaches that need replacing. You’ve got so many players at the club underperforming for a while now or not representing value for money like Benteke, Wickham, Souare, Sako, Hennessey, Sorloth, or that have been bought and not used like Riedewald. You’ve then got to somehow persuade Zaha, Wan-Bissaka, Milivojevic, Saigon and Townsend that CPFC is the best place for them. Never mind the dreamland new Main Stand every CPFC supporter was excited for. You have got so much work to do for the summer that your best off starting right now. It amazes me how there’s not been an overhaul of new scouts at the club and the ones who passed up on the option of signing Van Dijk as he was deemed too slow and not taking the opportunity to sign Maddison at Coventry. Yet we come up with the likes of Sorloth, Jach & Rakip. The best overseas player that we’ve signed was Milivojevic and that was down to Allardyce. See a club like Brentford that is always able to replace a manager and coaching team where they should have far less resources than us. Look at the players they’ve signed over the years from lower league, or players not loved from bigger club and looked abroad and turned in to good players. Look at the players they’ve signed for little and made good profit on. This club is rapidly sleep walking towards a Charlton moment. Especially with Hodgson in charge. He has a good squad available to him do not get it twisted. He has under achieved immensely this season. Im so fed up of his negative approach when he tries to cover it up with the trying to play pretty keep ball football that has no meaning at the end of play! No ruthlessness to it. So many sides come to Selhurst and we let them do as they please, we show clubs far too much respect. I get the man is well respected and tries to be respectful but for **** sake we don’t have to do it on the pitch. Selhurst is a hard place for away sides apparently, bollox is it. Still got 3 stands at the ground that are nowhere near Premier League standard. We all thought this season was about pushing on. I always hear Parish say we are a potential big side yet to be woken. Really? You need to make serious changes at the club and stop all this sentimental bollox like Roy being a Croydon boy who supported Palace, bringing Freedman back to be what exactly?

I’ve got a lot of respect for Parish, I think he’s been brilliant and a great chairman and always will think that but wake up smell the coffee we are going backwards not forwards. It’s the same old story with Palace, nothing ever changes that’s why we’ve never won anything and never progress past the point of just staying up.

But, on the plus side next season we get to pay more money for the privilege of going through the same shit all over again. So, that's something to look forward to!

SP has done a great job of bringing stability to CPFC. I just wonder if he has reached his Peter principle. It happens to us all in business at some time.

Couldn't agree with you more mate. The approach game wise isn't to bad it's the turning games into wins that annoys me Hodgson doesn't know how to do it. I do think Freedman should be given another chance at management one day just needs to learn a bit more about the prem

So true , we lost literally 1000’s up on 1,000 of fans under that **** mullery. Averaging around 5.5-6k iircc. I still went home and most aways but it was a struggle motivation wise. I still think the fan base is there casually but there’s a lot more going on these days and of course financial uncertainty.

Football wasnt remotely as fashionable back then. The 80s had hooliganism, hillsborough and frankly some pretty dire football (certainly more attritional stylistically than the 70s). It was cheap, but the facilities and general standard of 'product' (sorry, cant think of another word) in food, facilities, toilets, safety etc was nothing like it is now. The Prem didnt start for a couple more years, and the game was very much still in that 80s warp at the time.

You really didn't get families going in the same way as today. Nor tourists, or day trippers. As grim as it might seem to todays youth, i'd bite your hand off to go back to those match day experiences compared to the slick marketting, choreographed cheerleaders, punters sitting looking at their phones and filimg corner takers and general tedium of the modern game.

I doubt Waddle would have ever come to Palace. He signed for Wednesday, a bigger club, with better players, and a better (for him at least) playing style, not far from his home in the NE.

Agree he has a lot to do this summer, but then he does every summer. Truth is we are starting each season weaker than we have started the season before. If we stay up we will be AWB, Wilf and Batman light im convinced so will be starting considerably weaker this time.

Every season ‘ the best squad we’ve ever had ‘ gets weaker in depth and older in age. Parish is way out of his depth and no one wants to work for him long term

Let's say we sell Wan and Zaha for a combined round number of £90m. We need to get Benteke out at almost any price to remove him from the wage bill. But then you could actually do a lot of good stuff in terms of rebuilding the squad with £90m if you know what you are doing and plan ahead. Look at the teams in and around us - how many £30m players on > £100k a week have they got on their books?

Trouble is I don't trust us to achieve that and we will end up scratching around in August for another overpriced marquee signing and a few bits and bobs from the Unique Sports Management stable.

We have been a 1man team for too long. Benteke has been a huge error..if u are not gonna make him the focal point.

Look at the teams in and around us - how many £30m players on > £100k a week have they got on their books?

Trouble is I don't trust us to achieve that and we will end up scratching around in August for another overpriced marquee signing and a few bits and bobs from the Unique Sports Management stable.
Sell those two for that amount and any club that we try to buy from will want a hugely over inflated price for anyone we bid for.

So, could you back this up with some proof, please. I'm so sick of opinions being presented as facts.

Yeah, he’s so out of his depth, he’s taken us from administration to the most successful spell in our history in less than10 years. What a shit chairman.

Maybe fans like you will be happy for us to become the next Sunderland!

Who'd be a chairman eh?
