Thought that was probably our best performance of the season. Nice to see us get so much possession away from home. There wasn’t much in it, although they probably had a few more chances as you’d expect.

Guaita MOM for me. Didn’t put a foot wrong.

McA & McC superb in midfield so we didn’t miss Luka.

The back 4 were very disciplined, Wilf unplayable at times & Ayew worked his socks off and deserved his goal.

A very satisfying performance & result

James McArthur was outstanding, MoM. Everyone played well though. Great all round performance and the passing was the best this season.

I concur with all of this. Perfect summary for me.

I'll just add that Schlupp was guilty of day dreaming at times.

VAR 10

At first I swore on my life Kelly was a mile offside then they showed the replays and I felt better and still not 100% then came out the millimetres...

Good solid team performance. VG with a few point blank reaction saves that kept us in it. Glad Ayew got his goal to keep his momentum going and PVA took a beautiful penalty. Cahill and Kelly are humongous at the back. Both deserve their places

I have gone for PVA. For having the balls to step up and take a high pressure penalty, then taking it very well and producing one excellent bit of defending late on.

Also because I am fed up of people constantly being unnecessarily harsh about him in every matchday thread. He isn't perfect of course but is far better than the BBS give him credit for and is regular in one of our best ever teams and one of best ever defences.

The BBC have given it to him too so I am not alone.

Well done to Ayew - another unfairly maligned on here last season. Not his best game but producing a proper striker's moment. Something we miss at times.

And well done to Roy too!

There was a lovely steal by PVA deep in the second half to stop a dangerous attack. It’s raken me years to come round to the bloke, but fair enough. It was really an outstanding team performance, in any case.

Regularly left overloaded by Schlupp which happened for their goal too. A lot of the time he looks out of position but often it is the full back that is free.

Great bit of defending late on which was almost as good as a goal. Plus the penalty.

Lots of individuals played well but the team as a whole functioned brilliantly, especially considering the lack of creativity in the middle of the park.

Cahill and kelly solid

Liked McCarthy, ayew worked hard and got what he deserved with goal, wilf moments of magic but much prefer him on left

PVA was my clear man of the match. Defended well, including once where he had to bail out the centre backs. Excellent going forward with very little in front of him but he was always looking to play the ball forward - he’s such a progressive player. And bonus that he slotted home the penalty coolly.

I’ll do the rest of the ratings tomorrow. Wasn’t vintage Palace but we got the points against East London ***** so I’ll take the 3 whenever they are offered.

Goal saving, glad you noticed it. PVA is a class act. Forgive him for his defensive frailties, tighten up behind him and appreciate the forward runs and technical ability he gives to the side. He’s a class act. Pure class. His nonchalant body language won’t endear him to all the fans but anyone who can’t see he’s technically our 2nd best player going forward should give up watching the game.
