I'm not normally one to complain a lot about refs, but not sending off Romeu last night was borderline criminal. He made at least four bookable offences in the 2nd half alone and the refs was looking straight at him as he took down Tomkins with an NFL tackle.

If the FA fail to react on these obvious negligent acts, the standard of refereeing will never be raised

I just cannot get angry over the ref.

Roy and his cautious tactics and WZ with his reaction. Then comes Ward Prowse and then the ref

I have said that I don't think he played advantage in our favour. Its just karma that we scored. I am annoyed with myself for breaking myself imposed ban. I am angry again

Yes, that's how I read the law (but the detail also answered my example).

Sorry only just seen this post.

I was talking in the context of this discussion. This foul was in the centre circle, he is not allowed to play advantage. If the ball has broken as you suggest he can let the play run a few seconds to see if the goal is scored.

Often referees will play advantage in the middle of the park because the team still have possession, they are not allowed to do that as the post you made later references.

Different incident.

The red card one was in the centre circle.

I am pretty sure he had the whistle to his lips for the incident when we scored.

Similar to capoue on wilf
Disgraceful
That was unbelievable reffing, and I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned it.

It's crazy that he did this whilst we were attacking, yet paid no attention to the game in-play.

With regard to Stephen's challenge on Townsend, the fact Townsend had to take evasive action to avoid serious injury is enough reason for a free kick. Complete incompetence by the ref, a player is not going to wait for his leg to get broken if he can avoid it.

It is clear that there are ref's who have made their mind up about Zaha. I think that is called bias. They sympathise with the players Zaha comes up against rather than give the foul.

Just seen the penalty incident on the OS, yep, stonewall beyond doubt, full on lunge at Tomkins, appalling refereeing all round, needs investigating.

Whether VAR will address the issues from last night is another thing. If Mariner is the Ref watching the screen, obviously not.

Just seen motd highlights of last. There was a package of at least four very bad fouls on wilf last night. Three of those bordering on assault. That style of play needs clamping down on.

I fed up with the pundits saying its a sign of respect and he should grow up. Assault is never a sign of respect.

Sooner var comes in the better. That challenge on andros in the first half was as bad as the Grimsby players challenge. In that game at least the ref booked the Grimsby player. Last night it looks like like mariner ignored it.

The same lazy pundits who say "there was contact on Hazard/Salah/Young so he has the right to go down".

Wilf's demeanour and, some would say, cocky attitude rubs people up the wrong way, including referees.
Unfortunately that alone gives people like Marriner an excuse to "knock him down a peg".

Marriner always has a shocker refereeing our games. The new Dermot Gallagher.

I think we are.talking about different aspects. The advantage he played which resulted in in the goal is what I am referring to. I'm suggesting he wasn't actually playing advantage because hevdidntvthink it was a foul. And If he did put whistle to mouth it may have been in hope lino would flag for offside. That's how corrupt I think he is. Makes Clattenburg look like a staunch Eagle
