They are top of the form table for the last several games, ten, twelve, whatever you want. Their away form is particularly impressive - To view the link you have to Register or Login
I felt we lost it in midfield but I’m not sure different personnel would have made much difference. They are very good, and they know it - there’s a reason those players cost, and earn, so much.

They didn't look that good last night though. Their goals were supported by some terrible defending and i would say we probably scored the best goal of the game, certainly the time one of the teams was taken apart by the other.

So many poor decisions yesterday like having Schluup marking Lukaku. No ability to pass out but also no target to hit and retain the ball. He kept with his previous 11 with 1 enforced change. He will probably do the same on Saturday.

I agree that RH could have done some things differently - the one you point to and the subs, certainly. But I did look at Man U right from the start and their players looked bloody good and very confident.

For example the gulf in technique between our best midfielder, and any of theirs.

This is so ******* boring. Lose a game and people want him out, win a game and he's the best since Steve Coppell.

Again - who could we realistically get that would be better than Hodgson? I don't see anyone that would likely improve us.

And mine. He has a dig in the trenches attitude. We should be goung for it. Last nights and the Chelsea perfirmance epitomised this. We are luvky Fulham and Huddersfield are so poor. Just hope we can beat Cardiff because ee may struggle against Burnley and Brighton

Agree, itís all so predictable if we lose. It is generally accepted last night was a free hit, we havenít beaten them in 28 years and they havenít lost away for 8 matches.
Roy tried something different, it didnít work, move on.
He is the best we have had in years and likely to be for sometime.

He has built a solid team which is getting better and better, and sometimes playing the best football weíve seen in yonks. When he goes he will leave us stronger than when he came. He has spent little in the transfer market while increasing the value of nearly all our first team.

But yeah, letís have a punt on someone else!

Chasing the game he brings Benteke on, but takes off the other striker! Why?

As someone who used to post on here said to me last night, we win games despite him because we have quality players. Finding it hard to disagree with that at times.
Then you need a reality check. We aren't going to play well every week and maybe Leicester just had a really good half? More often than not we aren't going to be the better team in the majority of games we play but with Roy we keep things tight at the back and always create good chances going forward and if we take them we often come away with a point or 3. Goals change games and last night if Andros doesn't stick it over the bar from 6 yards out then the result might have been different. The fact is we've never been on the end of a real hiding under Roy like for example Bournemouth were last night against Arsenal.

Yep, there’s no sure bets, only gambles with foreign coaches. Hodgson should only leave when it’s clear he’s taken us as far as he can, and we have sufficient funds to back a new manager (as was not the case with FDB). Don’t think we’ve reached either of those points yet. Deserves a full season with a decent striker, and I doubt we’ll have much money in the near future with the cost of the new stand.

Works both ways though. Bournemouth have had a few hidings but they also score a lot of goals at home.

I understand your point, but I don't think constructive criticism is inherently a bad thing. I don't see too many people saying they think he should be replaced either? Maybe a couple of knee jerk types are saying so, but the majority of those who criticise on occasion are just frustrated with things that at least to us could be easily remedied with a tweak or a change in personnel here and there.

I do happen to believe he is under performing in comparison to the talent at his disposal, I think he's doing okay though. Do I think we could get somebody who could have us higher up the table and performing better? possibly. Would I personally take the gamble? Probably not. We're treading water with Roy and that is pretty much what we need, at least for now and possibly the next season or two after that given we have had volatile seasons near enough every year we have been promoted. He is a nice change to the boom and bust cycle, which should hopefully allow us to grow fairly organically from here and build a squad for the future.

Does this mean we can't discuss criticisms of tactics, starting XI's or lack of in game management? I don't believe so. You can say these things without having to be entrenched in the Roy out, or Roy can do no wrong camp.

Exactly but personally I prefer to be hard to beat than get spanked a few times a season. Facts are facts and we didn't have a fit Premier League striker for the first half of the season and we are 8th in the form table over the past 12 games so I really don't get what there is to moan about.

Points have been better recently but I donít think we have had a good season. My main gripe is how crap we are at home. I would be in the camp of taking a few hidings during the season if the point output overall was the same but we got more excitement and results at Selhurst.

Disappointing and bizzare considering how many far better teams we’ve beaten in that time.

Palace have suffered one defeat in their last 7 games.

There is no need to press the panic button after losing a game that we were expected to lose due to the huge gulf between Palace and Man United.

If you think Utd are a poor team, how many of their team last night would not walk straight into our team.

I understand why he made most of the decisions last night, but I do think he got some of them wrong.

I get the idea of sitting off Man Utd and maintaining our shape in the first half, although I do feel we showed this particular Man Utd team too much respect.

I understand the like for like sub of Bat for Benteke, but chasing the game with some momentum I'd like to have seen us go for it and have both on the pitch.

I don't really understand the PVA sub, and can only assume he wanted to keep Schlupp on the pitch but get Kouyate on. Personally, unless it's forced, I think it's very risky to make changes to your defence in a match like that.

Yes, we were always likely to lose last night, and yes they are on a great run of form, but I still do think we were too passive last night.
